Pros
- Great beer lineup
- Several HD screens
- Live music on the weekends
- Delicious vegetarian-friendly and gluten-free options
- Fun games with freebies during important matches
Cons
- Servers are not accommodating
- Pricey beer
The Innis & Gunn Edinburgh is certainly one of the best sports bars in Edinburgh. They are known for their great beer lineup: an impressive total of 26 craft taps!
This bar has several HD screens for your viewing pleasure. There is no need to squish amidst the crowd in front of a single screen as you can park yourself in front of one in comfort.
During the weekends, they play live music, so one can imagine the electric energy surging through the crowd as they root for their respective sports teams!
Customers we’ve spoken to raved about their delicious food, which also includes vegetarian-friendly and gluten-free options. Most cited the Korean fried cauliflower, veggie burger, and buttermilk burger as absolute must-haves.
Also, each live streaming event in this sports bar is certainly one-of-a-kind because they come up with brilliant gimmicks during game days.
For instance, during the whole duration of the 2022 World Cup, the bar will serve delicious wings from around the world, with each day taking inspiration from a nation who made it to Qatar.
During the event, anyone can flag down an Innis & Gunn’s branded taxi on the streets of Edinburgh and receive a perfect at-home kit which includes free lager, Innis & Gunn pint glasses, T-shirts, and even a free pint voucher!
There were some guests, however, who complained about the bar’s service. For instance, one customer made reservations only to find out that the bar was closed when they got there.
The price of their beer also increased abruptly from £6.10 to £7.10, but the serving size actually decreased from a full pint to a Lothian Road ⅔ measure. Another customer pointed out that the canned beers were ridiculously priced at over £9 for a can.
Despite these, Innis & Gunn Edinburgh is still a solid sports bar choice if you want a lively, sports bar with a wide selection of craft beers and delicious food.

Pros
- Offers advanced bookings for live streaming events
- Affordable drink and food selection
- Pool table
- Has vegan and vegetarian options
Cons
- Has a two-hour limit per table
- Reports of rude staff
The Tron is also one of the top sports bars in Edinburgh. This bar has a huge screen on the lower level and a pool table that customers can use when they are not watching sports.
For special matches, this sports bar actually offers advanced online bookings to ensure that you have a spot during the live stream.
For example, for their live streams of the Qatar World Cup in Edinburgh, you can go on their website and book a table, and while you’re at it, you can also pre-order one of the bar’s drinks packages (e,g, beer buckets, shots, and bombs).
Next, they have an affordable drink selection. For instance, on Mondays to Thursdays, they only charge £4.25 for gin and tonic, and they have a promotional offer wherein you can have a meal and a drink for £6.
The food items in the menu, which include vegan and vegetarian options, are cheap yet delicious.
Customers particularly enjoy the bar’s juicy rump steak for only £10.95. Others recommend its chorizo and halloumi skewers and pulled pork wrap and chips.
Some customers, however, had unpleasant experiences with the bar staff. For instance, one customer reported that she and her husband were ignored by the bartender despite requesting to be served.
Another customer stated that they waited over 30 minutes to be served.
Currently, they also have a two-hour limit per table, so this is not a place where you can hang out for hours on end.
In a nutshell, if you are looking for cheap yet delicious drinks and pub food, and you don’t mind the two hour limit and occasional lapses in service, then The Tron is the sports bar for you.

Pros
- Unique decor theme
- Inexpensive beer
- Delicious stone-baked pizzas
Cons
- Expensive cocktails
- Other food selections are not tasty
- No special offers during livestreams
The Frankenstein / Bier Keller is a unique Edinburgh sports bar due to its Frankenstein theme: it has classic gothic fixtures, a church style interior, and dimmed lighting.
They sell reasonably priced beers, ranging from £4.9 to £5.2. You can just sit back and relax on one of their long wooden tables and keep ordering cans of Heineken and Guinness while watching the game.
You can also order a scrumptious stone-baked pizza to pair with your beer. For £12 you can order either a Gone Trufflin’’ (mushroom & black truffle paste, smoky speck ham, mushrooms, Fior di Latte mozzarella) or Simply Salami.
However, their Frankentein-themed cocktails are a bit pricey, costing £9 each or £24 a jug for some options. Examples are Corpsey Colada, The Bride’s Kiss, The Blue Monster Martini, and The Monster.
Some customers also found their other food menu items to be lacking in the taste department.
For instance, a customer ordered the bar’s roast chicken and found it dry. Another customer found the mixed platter (finger food) to be inedible.
Finally, while they do screen important games both in the main bar and Bier Keller, they do not really have planned promotions or events connected to those games. For instance, for the World Cup, they just provide the screening times on their website.
Despite these shortcomings, Frankenstein / Bier Keller is still one of the top bars in Edinburgh! If you can splurge on cocktails, and food quality is not at the top of your list, then do visit this unique, German hall-style sports bar with a quirky Frankenstein theme.

Pros
- Live music
- Superb cocktails
- Yummy food
Cons
- Bar occasionally closes early
- Long wait times for food
- Somewhat pricey drinks
- No special gimmicks during game days
The Angels Share is a hotel sports bar in Edinburgh that can help you celebrate your favorite sports team in style.
They have live music which is great for listening to or dancing to, perfect for those nights out with your mates.
The bar’s drink selection has an exceptionally curated cocktail menu and a top notch whisky list. Notable items include the bar’s signature cocktail Lovely Blonde – Lulu, international whisky Bulleit Bourbon, and the Alto Bajo Merlot wine from Chile.
Angels Share also serves delicious pub food. We loved their wild mushrooms & garlic on toast, Coast to Coast beer battered fish & chips, and their decadent dark chocolate torte.
Due to its drinks selection being highly curated, the drinks are somewhat pricey. For instance, its signature cocktails and martinis cost £10.5 each, and its Mortlach 25 year whiskey costs £72.
Even though the official bar closing times are around 11PM-1AM, some patrons have reported that sometimes they close as early as 9PM.
Others have also stated long wait times for the food, some falling around the 40-50 minute mark.
However, while you can book a table online in advance, there are no planned special promos or gimmicks in this sports bar during livestreams of important games – which is a shame.
That said, the pros of this sports bar seem to outweigh its cons since it still holds its reputation of being one of the best sports bars in Edinburgh. If you want a rather posh sports bar experience, then the Angels Share hotel sports bar is perfect for you.

Pros
- Has access to Sky, BT, and ESPN
- Inexpensive drinks
- Tasty food
- Set packages during live streams
- Can showcase live events that you request
Cons
- Booking system issues
- Not the best customer service
The Belushi’s Edinburgh is the quintessential Edinburgh sports bar, complete with a lively atmosphere and TVs that have access to Sky, BT, and ESPN cable.
They also offer amazing weekday deals for their drinks. For example, they have deals for £5 cocktails and double gins, £2.50 for beers, and £15 bottles of prosecco.
The bar’s food is also delicious with some customers raving about the bar’s signature burger with all of the fixings. They also offer nachos and wings, which are must-haves for snacking when watching a game!
Belushi’s Edinburgh can also showcase live events that customers request. We love that customers actually have a say on which games they want the bar to stream.
During live streaming events, this bar promises amazing packages for you and your mates to enjoy. While they did not specify what these packages include on their website, the bar’s favourable reviews are proof that it delivers on its promises.
Some customers, however, have reported issues with the bar’s booking system. One of them, for instance, failed to make a booking and was not given a clear answer as to why.
Another booked a table online, but upon arriving at the bar, the table they booked was not available.
There were also some reports of flawed customer service in the bar itself. For instance, one group kept being reminded of the time they had left for the table, thus turning the experience into something that was not enjoyable.
If you can overlook these booking issues and less than stellar customer service, then look no further than Belushi’s Bar in Edinburgh for a classic sports bar night out!

Pros
- Ideal for those who like live sports and music events
- Has a wide variety of drink selection fit for any preferences
- Has a good and appropriate atmosphere
Cons
- Needs customer service improvement
Malones Edinburgh is a sports Irish bar and restaurant that serves as a leisure spot for many people.
It is commendable how invested and updated the bar is in live sports events, making sure to meet its customers’ wants. Also, they provide live music to keep their customers entertained and hyped.
The facilities and interior of the building were well-maintained. Everything suited the location and provided relaxation for all customers, resulting in much praise.
Moreover, we like that they have a wide range of drink selections, different types of drinks of any kind for any preferences.
The customer service provided by the establishment can be improved and made more consistent, however, to maintain the reputation and attract new customers to the establishment. We’ve read a few concerns people have raised online, but nothing overly concerning.
To sum it up, the management invests properly in the bar, and the alcohol, the bar’s highlight, is in a wide variety to meet all kinds of customer needs. While there’s room for improvement, Malones Edinburgh is most likely a recommendable place to go for leisure.
