Our first staff tester chose Peaches Salon, a waxing salon that brings 13 years of experience to the table. Other salons and waxers actually visit Peaches to be trained, which boosts our confidence in their skills.

They have the awards to prove it, too! With 18 accolades under their belt, including recognition from The Scottish Women’s Awards and the Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards, Peaches’ expertise is hard to ignore.

What sets Peaches Salon apart is their inclusive approach. With services like Non-Binary Waxing, LGBTQIA+ Waxing, and Transgender Waxing, they provide a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space for everyone. 

When booking, our staff tester had the option to choose her preferred waxer based on their experience and training level. 

Our tester had a bikini wax and was very pleased with the results. From start to finish, the process was smooth (pun intended), and the esthetician made her feel comfortable throughout the session. 

Additionally, Peaches Salon keeps it simple with their 3-tier pricing structure so that customers can have options that suit their budget and needs.

For those undergoing sex reassignment surgery or planning to, we love that Peaches Salon offers support throughout the process by helping remove unwanted hair at any stage of the transition.

We went with another staff tester to Designer Waxing where we had the opportunity to try out their waxing service. So, we’re here to spill the beans. 

First off, we were impressed by the fact that Designer Waxing is a salon that has been around since 2008. That’s a solid track record in the beauty industry! 

We also found out that they specialise in intimate waxing for both women and men, using hot wax that’s gentle on the skin. The best part is that the prices are competitive, starting from £20-£39 for a bikini wax.

Another positive aspect of Designer Waxing is their commitment to quality. They only use top-notch brands like The Fluffy Brow, Australian Bodycare, Cirepil by Perron Rigot, and Outback Organics. 

Our tester’s eyes lit up when she learned that they offer HD Brow Waxing service. This brand is quite famous – in fact, it’s the brand of choice of The Saturdays, Emeli Sandé, Amanda Holden, and Alesha Dixon. 

Since our diligent tester’s brows were in need of some expert attention, she eagerly tried out their HD Brow Waxing service. We were impressed with the precision and care the esthetician provided, and the results were fab!

Unfortunately, Designer Waxing is closed on Sundays. 

Additionally, we’ve come across reports of some customers experiencing redness and itchiness a week after the procedure. While this is not ideal, it’s important to note that everyone’s skin reacts differently.

Waxy O’Brien’s is a waxing salon that specialises in intimate waxing. With Lyn, the owner, boasting an impressive 17 years of experience, we knew we were in capable hands.

Waxy O’Brien’s has two awards under their belt. They won 2019’s Glasgow Retail Business Award for Best Beauty Treatments and 2018’s Glasgow Retail Business Award for Best Business on the Southside.

What sets them apart is they arrange consultations for first-time waxers. This personal touch is truly appreciated since our staff tester for this salon is a waxing virgin.

She bravely volunteered to try out their full leg waxing service. After surrendering her legs to their capable hands, the result was silky smooth legs that could rival a dolphin’s sleekness!

When it comes to training, Lyn has learned from the best in the biz. She trained with renowned experts like Kim Lawless, The Wax Queen; Andy Rouillard, The Wax Daddy; and Caroline Mears, The London School of Waxing. 

We appreciate their use of hot wax for intimate areas, avoiding strip wax altogether. This gives clients a more gentle and comfortable experience. 

Unlike other salons, they offer waxing packages, such as the full leg and bikini wax combo for only £73. It’s a great option for those looking to save some pennies.

Unfortunately, they’re closed on Mondays and Sundays.

Also, booking fees are non-refundable, so it’s essential to be certain of your plans before making a reservation. 

Lastly, they only accept cash payments in the salon, which may catch some customers off guard.

Glasgow’s The Waxing Rooms specialises in Brazilian/Hollywood waxing. With their conveniently located clinic and nearby street parking, it’s easy to access their services. 

Upon entering, we appreciated their clean and stylish atmosphere. We think this adds a touch of elegance to the waxing experience.

Competitive pricing is always a plus, and The Waxing Rooms delivers. With bikini waxing starting from just £15, it’s a budget-friendly option for achieving smooth skin. 

And for those who feel a little shy about getting fully undressed, you’re in luck. The Waxing Rooms offers a paper g-string to provide a measure of comfort during the session.

Our adventurous staff tester experienced their bikini Hollywood waxing service, courtesy of the lovely and professional Claire. She was not only efficient but also thorough, and they even shared a few laughs, making the process feel less daunting.

Unfortunately, The Waxing Rooms is closed from Saturdays to Mondays, which can be disappointing for those looking to book appointments over the weekend. 

Additionally, we’ve come across reports of longtime waxers experiencing soreness and painful regrowth. While everyone’s experience may differ, it’s worth considering for those with sensitive skin or a low pain threshold. 

Lastly, The Waxing Rooms is not wheelchair accessible, which may pose a limitation for some individuals.

Wax HQ boasts a team of professionally trained beauty experts, which reassured us. 

For instance, Louise has 13 years of experience, having undergone advanced waxing training with the renowned Sam Marshall. She’s also a qualified specialist in CND Shellac and Dermalogica. 

Our staff tester couldn’t resist putting their services to the test, particularly their underarm waxing. 

The experienced esthetician left her underarms silky smooth and ready for any sleeveless occasion. The procedure was also relatively painless, with the esthetician’s attention to detail making the experience more comfortable than expected. 

We were delighted by their cheeky menu, designed to cover all your waxing needs while offering a bit of discretion when it comes to booking in. It’s always refreshing to see a salon with a sense of humour.

In addition, they’re one of the first in Glasgow to utilise the Outback Organics Opal Peelable wax. This vegan-friendly wax contains no beeswax or other animal by-products, catering to those with specific preferences or sensitivities.

Wax HQ also has a skin bar that offers a free face mapping skin analysis. Furthermore, they offer the opportunity to test-drive your prescribed skincare regimen for 15 minutes under the guidance of a professional Skin Therapist. 

Do note that they’re closed on Mondays and Sundays. Additionally, no-shows and missed appointments are non-refundable – so make sure you block off your appointment on your calendar!

Lastly, Wax HQ are relatively pricier compared to some other salons, with a basic bikini wax costing £22.
