Pros
- Free no-obligation consultation
- Experienced and highly qualified team
- Team of over 40 advisors
- Offers educational resources
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- No details on fee structure
Pia Financial Solutions employs over 40 skilled financial advisors that offer advice and products related to mortgages, wealth management, and commercial finance.
Even so, each advisor has their own specializations, which we think is a plus if you’re on the hunt for a professional with expertise in a specific financial field.
That said, we like that there’s a page dedicated to showcasing its advisors since potential clients can do a brief background check and reach out to their preferred advisor.
As mentioned earlier, Pia Financial Solutions offers advice and products related to mortgages, but what really caught our eye was its specialist mortgage services.
Here, you’re given specific mortgage options based on your profession. This includes mortgages for doctors, teachers, police, self-employed, and contractors among others.
Another point goes to its blog, which is full of free, impartial articles of advice from its very own financial advisors. Topics include mortgage guides, protection policies, and more.
If you’re looking to explore more of its services, we recommend taking up its offer of a free no-obligation consultation to see how its services can address your needs.
As for drawbacks, it doesn’t share much on how its fee structures work. So, you’ll have to inquire if this is something you want to check out up front.
All said, we’re pretty happy with what we’ve seen so far. Just keep in mind that it’s closed on weekends, so you may not be able to reach your advisors at this time.

Pros
- Free financial health check
- Experienced and highly qualified team
- Free consultation
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- No details on fee structure
- Lacks services description
Made up of experienced financial advisors, Tru Wealth offers a variety of financial services from investment planning to mortgages.
Here, you’ll be greeted with a free financial health check. We highly suggest booking a free consultation to better understand where your money is going.
Though, keep in mind that its offices are closed on the weekends. So, you may not be able to get in touch with your advisors during this time.
On a brighter note, we think it’s worth mentioning that we’ve heard a ton of positive things about the financial advisors here. In particular, past clients have raved about the simplicity and efficiency of their services.
It has dedicated teams for each specialization – mortgages, insurance, and the like. We find that this instills client confidence knowing that each team has a wealth of experience in each financial area.
We find this makes taking charge of personal wealth all the more welcoming and accessible for clients with a shallow depth of financial knowledge.
All said, we were just a tad bummed that it lacks info on how its service fees are computed. So, if you’re curious about this, you may want to inquire.
We also wish that its website was a bit more descriptive of the services it offers. This way, potential clients have a better idea of what’s in store for them.

Pros
- Specializes in pensions and retirement planning
- 20+ years of industry experience
- Experienced and highly qualified team
- Online consultations available
- Website has tools
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Large client base may affect the time for each client
- No details on fee structure
Having been in the industry since 1998, Intelligent Pensions Ltd is quite experienced in the field of retirement planning and pensions, especially considering that those are its specialty.
Services include advice on pension transfers, pension sharing on divorce, pension options, and so on. So, whether you’re nearing retirement or already retired, you may want to consider checking out how to make your money work for the long term.
With over 1,600 active clients, we were impressed with how its financial advisors make each piece of advice personal and tailored to specific financial circumstances and objectives.
However, we’re a bit concerned over how this large of a client base may affect the dedication and time its advisors have for each client. Even so, we have yet to hear any negative reports about this, so we hope it stays that way.
We were pleased to see that it offers online consultations. This way, you won’t have to leave the comforts of your home to get trusted financial advice.
You can easily book an appointment via its website. However, its offices are closed on weekends, so keep that in mind when scheduling a consultation.
Apart from that, the website also offers useful resources such as a retirement income forecaster, which will help you determine if your target retirement income is sustainable enough.
We were just a tad disappointed that there wasn’t any information on the structure of its fees. So, you’ll have to inquire about this during your consultation.

Pros
- Specializes in financial planning
- Online and telephone consultations available
- Free no-obligation initial consultation
- Award-winning
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Small staff
- No details on fee structure
- Recently established
Established in 2003, Henderson Stone & Co Ltd has since grown into an award-winning firm that employs 7 advisers and 5 support staff that serve Scotland and the rest of the UK.
Since it has only recently been established, this may be a cause for concern for some, considering that it may not have the same wealth of experience as others on the list.
Other than that, its cozy team may also be a drawback in terms of efficiency given that the firm is serving the entirety of Scotland. However, we have yet to hear any complaints about this, so we’re not too worried.
This is especially so considering that it’s been placed first in the 2020 FT Adviser’s Top 100 Financial Advisers Awards for two consecutive years. So, we definitely think you’re in good hands here.
As for its services, it specializes in financial planning. This includes planning for your estate, pension, and retirement, among others.
Moving on to cons, we were disappointed that there was no information on how its charges are calculated. If this concerns you, we suggest bringing this up during your consultation.
Speaking of, we were pleased that it offers a free no-obligation initial consultation. You can opt to have it done over the phone or through online video conference platforms such as Zoom or Teams, which we find pretty convenient.

Pros
- Open until late
- Offers free home visits
- Independent
- Experienced and highly qualified team
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- No mortgage-related financial services
- No details on fee structure
One of Castlebank Financial Planning’s most noteworthy features would be that it’s entirely independent.
This means that it can give you insights into virtually all financial products relevant to you without any restrictions since it isn’t tied to any financial service provider.
According to clients we’ve gotten in touch with, its financial advisors take the time to thoroughly explain their clients’ options. We find this to be a plus as it ensures that clients are making sound and fully-informed decisions.
We also found it convenient that its business hours run until as late as 8 PM, so you can easily squeeze in a visit after a long day at work. Just keep in mind that it’s not operational on weekends.
Apart from that, did we mention that it offers free home visits? We find that the elderly and individuals with mobility issues will benefit from this perk the most, especially ones living outside of Glasgow.
While we’re quite happy with the wide variety of offerings, a drawback of this firm would be that it doesn’t offer any mortgage-related financial services.
We were also quite sad that there wasn’t any info on how its fees are computed. So, you may want to mention this during your consultation.
