Rosewood Cakes stood out to us because of their striking cake designs. Although they didn’t have a showroom, they were courteous enough to offer us some of their previous works, which we were impressed by due to their luxurious and multi-tiered looks.

Furthermore, our confidence was reinforced during the cake tasting, where we tried a bunch of their samples. One of the things we immediately noticed was how flavourful and moist their sponge cakes were.

They also offered various flavours, ranging from classics like chocolate fudge and lemon blueberry, to creative and trendy ones like strawberry champagne and Biscoff. We also like their commitment to not using artificial flavours.

They also mentioned that they don’t make the same design twice, which we believe based on previous clients’ photos. These customers also noted how closely the staff members worked with them to achieve their creative design.

The only downside is the steep price range. However, you can rest assured that you’ll be getting the best value for your money.

Designer Cakes By Paige was one of the companies we checked out that impressed us with their customer service. Although my sister didn’t end up going with them, we were impressed by the quick response and friendliness of their staff.

We also reached out to their previous clients, and one of the most common comments was how the staff members were extremely attentive during the brainstorming process. They also shared how they loved the creativity the cake designers brought to the table.

This bakery is also one of the few options in Glasgow that offers affordable variations, as they have a separate category for cakes under £70.

Their variety also rings true for their flavours, as they offer crowd favourites like vanilla, double chocolate, chocolate orange, and more. The most notable one we tasted during our tasting session, however, was the salted caramel.

However, we’ve also seen mixed reviews regarding the quality of these cakes. Some customers weren’t pleased with how dry the sponge cake was, while others felt like the bakers didn’t achieve their vision.

Kayleigh’s Crumbs caught our attention because of the owner’s passion for running a one-woman cake shop. We were further impressed when we saw her previous works, as they all looked like they came from a big-name bakery.

One thing that may turn some people off is that her cakes don’t feature those grandiose designs. However, we like how she has her own style, leaning more towards a minimal yet elegant theme.

The flavours of their cakes are nothing to ignore, as her clients were surprised when they discovered that the cakes were just as delicious as they looked. Furthermore, they noted the sponge cake’s fluffiness.

Aside from cakes, she also offers edible wedding favours! These can either come in the form of cookies, cake pops, or macarons.

Lastly, we love how transparent and reasonable her price range was. Opting for her cakes also means that customers will get a cake-testing box, free delivery, and an in-depth consultation with Kayleigh herself.

TouchRoyale Cakes was one of our top prospects because we recently bought a birthday cake from them, which my entire family liked. 

We reached out to them for a quotation for my sister’s wedding cake, and although we didn’t push through because of the steep prices, we still liked what we saw. From their portfolio, we saw how they can cater to different themes, whether it be grandiose or minimalistic motifs.

Their previous clients told us during our interviews how much of their vision was turned into reality thanks to the in-depth brainstorming session they had with the cake designers. Also, these designers have multiple years of experience under their belts!

Aside from their cakes, what caught our attention was their beautiful cupcake bouquet, which we can see as a great wedding favour.

Top Tier Cakes piqued our interest because of their reasonable prices. During our interviews with their previous customers, we were pleased to discover how they work around a client’s budget.

What impressed us further was when our interviewees provided us with photos, as their cakes didn’t look cheap at all!

However, everything made sense when we called the bakeshop and discovered that their head cake designer has 30+ years of experience. We also saw how varied their previous works were, ranging from simple cakes to multi-tiered ones.

They also offer pre-made cakes. These, along with customised wedding cakes, are all delivered right on time at your chosen venue.

Moreover, we appreciate that they also cater to other events as well, whether it be for anniversaries, birthdays, christenings, etc.

The only thing they could improve on is the variety of designs and styles in their wedding cakes, as we felt like they’re a bit repetitive.
