For instance, they are drastically reducing their paper & plastic use, and they have changed all of their lights to LED bulbs. They are also grouping the orders they send to their suppliers to reduce the packaging, delivery miles, and fuel.

Their shop is also very beautiful. It is quite spacious and tastefully decorated, having wooden floors, large mirrors with white frames, gold, pink, and dark blue accents, and plenty of gorgeous flowers to liven up the space.

It’s worth mentioning, though, that if you bought a dress on sale, you will not be able to return it as per store policy.

Also, some customers mentioned that the manager was rude to them. This is quite concerning as buying a wedding dress is one of those niche shopping experiences where attentiveness is the litmus test for stellar customer service.

Additionally, the lead time for their custom dresses is quite lengthy. They recommend ordering at least 12 months in advance for made-to-order gowns.

David’s Bridal is also one of the best wedding dress shops in Glasgow that brides should visit at least once.

If you are only available during the weekends, then you are in luck since they are open seven days a week.

In addition, fittings and alterations can be made in the comfort of their very own David’s Bridal Customization Lounge.

In terms of prices, this shop has the most affordable selection. They even sell wedding dresses under £100, £200, and £500, so this shop is perfect for those on a tight budget.

Customers, however, were unhappy about the shop’s store assistant.

One bride-to-be was disappointed because even if she brought a picture of the design she wanted, the dresses that the store assistant kept bringing to her were wildly different. 

It also seems that the quality of some dresses might not meet high expectations. A customer observed that some of the pieces she saw featured cheap-looking fabric and embellishments.

That said, gowns here are generally affordably-priced – so those on a budget may forgive the not-so-premium finishes of some of the gowns.

All in all, David’s Bridal is the best shop to go to for those brides who prioritise their budget.

Astoundingly, Reeta Fashions has been around for 70 years and prides themselves on being one of the most trusted bridal boutiques in the UK.

Like David’s Bridal, they are also open seven days a week, which is perfect for the busy bride-to-be.

For the lucky bride with money to spare, this shop carries designer labels that have impeccable collections. Such labels include Enzoani, Blue by Enzoani, Badgley Mischka, Allure, Romantica, and White Ones by Pronovias.

They offer seasonal sample sales as well, which some might want to wait for. For instance, in a previous summer sale, they offered 70% off on a selection of wedding dresses – definitely a steal from where we stand!

Since the dresses they carry are mostly designer dresses, do expect a steep price tag for dresses that are not on sale (at least £2000).

They also carry sizes that are comparatively limited (sizes 8 to 28). Fuller-sized brides might have to look elsewhere.

Speaking of fuller-sized women, we’ve heard some troubling reports on their disappointing treatment of these ladies.

A customer asked for wedding dresses in her size, and the sales assistant was apparently arrogant and said nothing would fit her without even checking.

While we do not like this unfair treatment of their customers, we cannot deny that their wedding dress collections are to die for.

For someone who can splurge on their dream wedding dress, then this would be the bridal shop for you.

If you are in the market for high-end wedding dresses, then Eleganza Sposa is worth a trip. This first class bridal shop offers made-to-measure wedding dresses.

We like the fact that the lead time for these custom dresses is quite short. A gown can be finished in 2-3 weeks, and can be delivered within 3-5 days – impressive!

Their bridal collections are also quite gorgeous since they carry mostly famous bridal designer labels on top of their own. Some of the designers and brands they carry are Essense of Australia and Suzanne Neville.

Of course, since the wedding dresses they sell are from top bridal designers, the prices of the gowns reflect their special handiwork. The wedding dresses they have sell from £1500 and up.

It’s a bit of a letdown, though, for those planning to take pictures of the bridal fitting because they have a No Photography policy. They do allow FaceTime calls, which is somewhat a consolation.

Also, please be aware that unlike the other shops that offer free consultation, they charge a consultation fee of £30 for bridal appointments. Though it is redeemable against the purchase of gowns in store.

Additionally, the number of people you can bring to the fitting is quite limited (only 3) compared to other shops, which allow up to 6 people.

Another customer also reported unbecoming and rude behaviour from the staff. One kept rolling her eyes when the curvy bride-to-be (who just gave birth) kept trying on gowns, which is a no-no.

Thus, while this shop might not be for those on a budget, it would be perfect for the design-conscious who wants to make their fairytale wedding come true.

For future Glasgow brides, your hunt for the perfect wedding dress would not be complete without visiting Melle Cloche, a well-known bridal shop here in the city.

In fact, they have been heavily featured in top publications like Brides Magazine and You and Your Wedding. They were even included in British Vogue as one of their ‘Top Picks’ in Scotland, which is quite impressive.

They sometimes hold sample sales, with wedding dresses going for as low as £595 onwards. Do check with the store beforehand if they have any ongoing sales.

Also, while the bridal appointments in other shops typically have a 90-minute limit, this shop can accommodate you and your party for up to 2 hours. They can even serve you a nice glass of Prosecco/Bucks Fizz.

However, like Eleganza Sposa, they will also charge you for your bridal appointment (£25). 

In addition, due to this shop being well-known, their prices can also be quite steep. Their gowns typically come with a £2,000 – £2,500 price tag.

It’s just unfortunate that the behaviour of their staff leaves something to be desired. 

A couple of customers actually had similar stories wherein they experienced pushy and rude behaviour from the staff. Even though they loved the dresses, they bought their wedding gowns from other stores instead.

Lastly, due to being in demand, the dress delivery lead time is quite long (6 months), but you can pay for priority delivery which will cut down the time to 3 months. 

As a whole, for those who are attracted to famous establishments and beautiful gowns, do add Melle Cloche to your bridal dress hunting list.
