The 5 Best Pest Control Companies in Glasgow

How we picked

Capabilities

To ensure consistently excellent service, we looked at their qualifications such as accreditations from relevant bodies, credentials, and awards.

Pest Expertise

For convenience’s sake, we selected companies that could handle the removal of various pests, from rodents to insects.

Effectivity

With some pests more difficult to exterminate than others, we assessed the effectiveness of their treatment methods and products. As an extra measure, we also looked into whether these were safe for children, pets, and the environment.

Availability

To prevent the infestation from getting any worse, we checked out each company’s business hours, communication methods, and location accessibility to see if they can get to clients ASAP.

City Pest Solutions is a multi-awarded company with a stellar reputation as an excellent local pest control company for the last 10 years. They provide a full range of services for domestic and commercial clients.

What’s great about being a local company is that its technicians are experts in dealing with the local pests. These include rats, birds, squirrels, flies, fleas, and moths, to name a few.

Speaking of, it’s worth noting that their technicians are all BPCA (British Pest Control Association) trained and certified. So, clients can expect their work to be of high standards.

We think it’s also nice that they use eco-friendly treatment methods and products that are pet- and child-safe. To boot, they’re good for the environment, too.

They employ various techniques, from good old-fashioned traps to poison delivery. We appreciate the range of methods they use as it allows customers to choose whichever they’re most comfortable with.

We also like that they’re fully insured. So, should things stray from the plan, clients won’t have to worry about covering expenses from their pockets.

Despite being open daily, they’re quite difficult to book given their high demand. In fact, there are instances wherein they don’t accept new clients due to the volume of their booking.

Pros

  • Free survey and no-obligation quote
  • Local company with multiple accreditations
  • Open 24 hours daily
  • 20+ years of experience
  • Provide field biologist audits and pest proofing services

Cons

  • Limited staff members available for out-of-hours call-outs
  • May experience booking difficulties because of popularity

What sets Pets Solutions apart from the other entries on this list is its wealth of accreditations. They hold several certifications ensuring they meet the highest standards of health and safety, customer service, and environmental protection.

In our opinion, this is a strong statement to other competitors. It also instills reassurance for its clients that they’ve acquired the proper certification and training to perform their pest control services.

Since 2001, this Glasgow-based company has dealt with a number of common local pests, from gulls to bees. So, they’re well aware of the problems homeowners face and can remedy these accordingly.

We appreciate that they perform a free home survey that’s refunded against your treatment quote. This way, they’ll be able to thoroughly assess the problem before giving clients their proposed solutions.

To boot, they also offer pest-proofing services which are great for long-term security. Through this, their experts will secure clients’ homes to ensure that pests have no further entry points.

It’s worth highlighting that they also provide field biologist audits to ensure that sites are thoroughly inspected by professionals. In our opinion, these are perfect for businesses, especially those in the food industry.

Despite being open 24 hours daily, it’s apparently difficult to secure bookings because they’re quite popular. Hence, a technician will call back to secure a 2-hour slot within 24 hours of the initial call.

However, they only have limited staff members available on-call during out-of-hours. So, there have been reports of not having enough technicians to go around during late call-outs.

Pros

  • Local company with multiple accreditations
  • Free commercial surveys
  • Fully insured
  • Open daily
  • Technicians are BPCA (British Pest Control Association) trained and certified

Cons

  • Quite a young company
  • Closed on weekends

What’s great about Adept Pest Consultancy is that it provides independent biologist inspections via monitoring systems and audit reports. Hence, to us, they’re a great option for busy factories, restaurants, and bakeries to maintain their hygiene standards.

However, we think they’re quite young, with barely 10 years of industry experience. While they have a number of accreditations, we believe they still have some catching up to do compared to their competitors.

On the brighter side, all their technicians are BPCA (British Pest Control Association) trained and certified. Past clients can vouch for the effectiveness of their services, with one even claiming that they haven’t had any pest issues since hiring them.

It’s also great that they provide free commercial surveys. This way, their quotes are backed by a proper inspection of the problem and can advise clients on the best treatment method.

As for convenience, we like that they’re open daily. So, clients can call in virtually any day of the week to avail themselves of their services.

We also like that they’re fully insured since it will also come in handy during emergencies. We like the extra cushion this gives clients should something not go according to plan.

Pros

  • Open 24 hours daily
  • 45+ years of experience
  • Uses environmentally-friendly and non-toxic treatment methods and products
  • Technicians are efficient and responsive
  • Local company with multiple accreditations

Cons

  • Can be difficult to secure an appointment due to high demand
  • Doesn’t offer free surveys

If industry experience is a strong factor in your selection process, it’s worth highlighting that Complete Pest Elimination has been eliminating local pests since 1974.

With that much time in the field, they’ve accumulated a wealth of impressive accreditations. These include the European Standard for Pest Control, British Pest Control Association, and Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

To boot, they have a Level 2 Diploma in Pest Management from the (RSPH) Royal Society Public Health. In our opinion, it’s safe to say that they’re experts in the field.

They use environmentally-friendly and non-toxic treatment methods and products. In our opinion, this is definitely a plus, especially for households with pets and children.

Another pro to this company is that its call-out services are available 24/7. So, clients can call in the middle of the night, and Complete Pest Elimination will come to the rescue.

We think it’s also a big plus that they have stellar customer service. According to their clients that we’ve spoken to, they work efficiently and patiently answer all customer queries, which we think helps clients feel more at ease.

Unfortunately, their popularity does pose a problem since it’s sometimes difficult to book them. Nevertheless, they’re known to guide customers over the phone and will visit at the soonest possible time.

Pros

  • 30+ years of experience
  • Open 24 hours daily
  • Local company with multiple accreditations
  • Provides a 2- to 4-hour appointment window for each client
  • Technicians are BPCA, NPTA, and RSPH approved

Cons

  • May experience booking difficulties due to popularity
  • No free site inspections

With over 30 years of experience in pest control, Pest Master is many locals’ favourite exterminators for both residential and commercial problems.

What’s great about them is that they’re BPCA (British Pest Control Association), NPTA (National Pest Technicians Association), and RSPH (Royal Society of Public Health) approved.

They’re also members of the RISQS (Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme). Hence, clients are assured that they’re compliant with all the rules and regulations of the EU.

With all of these accreditations up their sleeve, we believe this is a good sign that they meet minimum quality standards.

As for their services, we found it unique that they can supply and install a pigeon-proof mesh system. Since this also works for squirrels, we think it’s an innovative way to protect clients’ roofs and solar panels.

On top of that, we like that they provide a 2- to 4-hour appointment window for each client. To us, this boosts reassurance that they take their time with each client.

Given this, it could take them some time to finish which could result in a backlog of appointments. Bookings can also be difficult to secure due to high demand.

Nevertheless, it’s great that they’re operational 24 hours daily. We think this will come in handy, especially during emergencies.

However, we were a tad let down that they don’t offer free surveys of the site. In our opinion, this would help give their technicians a better assessment of the problem before committing to the job.
