Pros
- Family-run business with over 30 years of combined experience
- Professional and efficient service
- Materials locally-sourced and products made in Aberdeen
Cons
- Some unsatisfactory installations
- Only offers made-to-measure products
First off, we have Aberdeen Blind Specialists; a family-run business that was established back in 2009. Owner Stefan Sr and his two sons manage the shop with “complete customer care” as their ethos.
This is evidenced by their consistently high ratings and positive customer feedback. Service was also reported to be professional and efficient, with prompt arrangements and accurate production estimates.
Aberdeen Blind Specialists does custom vision roller blinds, pleat blinds, Venetian blinds, Roman blinds, vertical blinds, and plantation shutters, among others. Venetian blinds can also be made with wood, faux wood, or aluminium.
Their products are made in their Aberdeen workshop, and their components and fabrics are sourced from leading local suppliers. Moreover, all their products are covered by at least a two-year guarantee, which is always honoured.
It’s worth noting that this shop only supplies made-to-measure bespoke blinds, so it costs a bit more than other options.
Now, there are some customers who have reported errors with installation, but Aberdeen Blind Specialists were quick to respond, which we commend.
Despite higher prices, they are quite competitive and are well worth the products you receive. So, we believe Aberdeen Blind Specialists could be the shop for you if you prioritise having custom blinds made and fitted.

Pros
- Best for those looking for stylish blinds
- Wide selection of products
- Impressive customer feedback
Cons
- Relatively new shop
- Only open three days a week
If you’re a sucker for aesthetically pleasing yet reliable window coverings, Edwards Blinds could have what you’re looking for.
Since opening in 2018, the company has become well-known for its trendy pieces and affordable prices. They can do a variety of blinds, including Venetians, Romans, rollers, verticals, perfect fit, shutters, hive, and pleated.
They even carry curtains, in case you want a mix of both in your home. We’ve assessed that their products very much fit their claims – practical and trendy at the same time.
Customers can even order some samples to see what fits their home, which we like.
We also appreciate that they have an online catalogue, but you can always visit their store location to see their selection for yourself. We especially recommend checking out their printed rollers, as they have some unique prints.
However, they’re only open for visits three days a week and are a relatively new company compared to others on our guide. That said, do take all the positive reviews with a grain of salt, especially if you’re ordering custom-made pieces.
In a nutshell, we think Edwards Blinds holds the potential to be the best blinds shop in Aberdeen. Hopefully, they expand their shop hours in the near future and maintain their high ratings.

Pros
- Best option for Venetian and Wood Venetian blinds
- Good option for a one-stop-shop
- Network of trusted partners
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Occasional mistakes in timeframe estimates
- Not the best option for rush jobs
With over 30 years in the industry, Grampian Blinds is also one of the oldest family-owned blind suppliers in Aberdeen. Their showroom in Mugiemoss Road houses their range of window dressings.
Their team primarily covers the Grampian region, but they are also able to provide products to the rest of Scotland through their network of trusted partners. They can also arrange for sales advisors to drop by your home for a free quote.
They are most popular for their Venetian and Wood Venetian blinds, which allow for greater control over your desired amount of light. Their other contemporary styles of blinds include Roman, Intu, roller, electric, and perfect-fit blinds.
Grampian Blinds also offers conservatory blinds, which is quite rare. Besides blinds, you can also have them make shutters, curtains, and awnings, which makes them a good one-stop-shop option.
When it comes to services, they can be hit-or-miss, especially when giving out lead time estimates. And although they rectify mistakes with free production, it is still inconvenient for customers to have to wait for replacements.
That said, it’s best to be cautious when ordering, and know that it’s not the best option for rush jobs. Still, Grampian Blinds has a fantastic range and unique offerings that some might find useful.

Pros
- Best option for a one-stop-shop
- Plenty of unique products and services
- Suitable for commercial purposes
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Several complaints about lack of communication
- Reports of errors regarding shipping and production time estimates
Apollo Blinds is a company that prides itself in its made-to-measure blinds and installation services. They mainly service communities in Rosemount, Midstocket, Ruthrieston, and other areas around Aberdeen.
They carry the most number of specialist brands and blind types among the entries in our guide. From rollers, shutters, wooden, twilight, Venetian, and Roman, to motorised and smart blinds, customers have a lot of options to choose from.
You can even provide your own fabric to have it turned into blinds, which we think is a stellar service for those who want something unique to their space. They also offer printed, and digitally shaped blinds, which are great options for commercial clients.
Another aspect we love about Apollo Blinds is their accessible and up-to-date website, which also shows what offers they have at the moment.
Sadly, they have had several complaints about customers not being contacted after the initial visit, and others complaining about some unskilled staff members. There have also been some errors regarding shipping and production estimates.
We suggest that they also keep their customer service on par with their impressive product selection, as one of the top blinds companies in Aberdeen. We also hope that they improve their communication system with customers for smoother transactions.

Pros
- Best for households with children
- 20 years of experience
- Locally-manufactured products
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Reports of inconsistent customer service
Finally, City Blinds Aberdeen is a nearly 20-year-old company that covers blind needs in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Perth Fife, and Dundee. Like Aberdeen Blind Specialists, they manufacture their products locally in Dundee.
Some of their top blinds include Venetian, Roman, Intu, roller, perfect fit, and shutter blinds. They’re also best for fantastic night and day blinds, which are adjustable depending on your needs.
If you have kids in your household, this may also be the shop for you. City Blinds Aberdeen has developed several child-safe systems and a functional yet stylish range of child safety accessories.
They also have a hotline you can contact in case you want to child-proof your existing blinds. And like most blind shops, they offer free estimates and fitting services and are willing to provide samples for visits to your home.
When it comes to services, they can also be quite hit-or-miss, especially with providing exactly what clients need. For instance, they will not comply with customer requests if it’s not related to faulty installation.
Other shops go above and beyond to provide the utmost satisfaction to their customers which gives them a competitive edge, so we hope that City Blinds Aberdeen can improve its services in this aspect.
