Top 5 Jewellery Shops in Dundee
How We Picked the Best Jewellery Shops in Dundee
Experience
When dealing with expensive jewellery, one should look for a well-established and trustworthy shop in order to receive top-notch quality and service.
Range of Products
We looked at the range of products in each shop to assess the types of customers they can cater to.
Pricing
The pricing of each shop is also important, so we checked out different jewellery shops with various price points to help you choose which ones would accommodate your budget. We also checked the finance options they have to help you pay for your bling.
Value-added services
We also discovered each shop’s own range of add-on services for your jewellery. This will help you pick and choose which services you can use on top of your purchase.

Pros
- Well-established business
- Open all week
- Excellent staff
- Finance options available
- Charitable company
Cons
- A tad pricey
- Booking system is a bit complicated
From its humble beginnings in 1949, Ernest Jones has become one of the most reputable jewellers in Dundee. In fact, it is now a national chain that has over 100 jewellery stores.
One of the advantages of this shop is that it is open all week unlike others who are closed during the weekends. This means you can shop during Saturdays and Sundays if you have a conventional work week.
We were also impressed by their excellent service. Customers shared their amazing experiences with their friendly and helpful staff who managed to address their queries with welcoming smiles.
If you want to put your purchase on a layaway plan, then you can take advantage of their finance options. You can even qualify for their 4-year interest-free credit plan!
We also commend Ernest Jones for supporting the charity Young Lives vs Cancer. They have pledged 10% of their profits from their Meaningful Moments collection to be donated to this inspiring organisation.
Of course, since they are the best at what they do, their prices would reflect their calibre. For instance, a simple pair of 9 carat white gold 0.50 carat diamond earrings would set you back £750.
Their online booking system also seems to be a bit complicated. They have separate booking systems for watch restorations, engagement rings, ring resizings, and other services which might confuse customers who are going in for multiple reasons.
Perhaps it would be best to book an appointment for only one service and then add your other concerns when you are already in the store.
Still, we highly recommend this shop due to its charitable nature and excellent service.

Pros
- Well-established business
- Official stockist of Rolex, Tudor, OMEGA, TAG Heuer and Certina for Dundee
- Offers valuations services
- Wide range of products
- Has finance options
Cons
- Pricey
- Does not deliver on the weekends
Founded by Kenneth Walker after returning from WW2, Walker the Jeweller is also currently one of the best sellers of jewellery in Dundee.
Not only is their business well-established, this shop was also appointed as the official stockist of Rolex, Tudor, OMEGA, TAG Heuer, and Certina for Dundee. This proves that they are a trusted establishment.
For those who need valuation services, they have a wonderful package for you.
The package includes a full description of all pieces, including digital photography, a digital copy of your valuation, and a summary sheet for your insurance company.
This shop also has a wide variety of products. They even sell cufflinks and homeware which is convenient for those who want to shop for these items on top of jewellery.
For those who want to pay in instalments, you’d be happy to know that this shop has finance options. For instance, they offer 0% interest free credit for items over £500.
Lastly, this shop has free delivery from Monday to Friday which is great. While other shops have required minimum amounts that one has to reach before offering free delivery, this shop offers it for all orders.
Sadly, the prices of their jewellery pieces are comparably more expensive. For instance, a simple pair of 18 carat white gold diamond stud earrings costs £775.
Also, if you are not around during weekdays, you would need to make arrangements for your expected delivery since they do not deliver on the weekends.
Remember that even though they are still comparatively pricey, you can still take advantage of their finance options.
For those looking to finance their purchase or in need of valuation services, then we highly recommend this well-known Dundee establishment.

Pros
- Known for their iconic charms and bracelets
- Affordable mostly lab-created diamonds
- Permanently offers service discounts
- Provides two finance options
- Sustainability efforts
Cons
- Reports of unfriendly and disinterested store staff
- Long wait times
Known for their iconic charms and bracelets, Pandora is certainly one of Dundee’s finest jewellery shops.
First off, they offer mostly lab-created diamonds which are lovely and affordable. For instance, you can purchase a pair of Pandora Brilliance lab-created diamond stud earrings for only £275.
Aside from being affordable, they permanently offer service discounts for carers, charity workers, teachers, and NHS & healthcare workers.
For those who cannot afford to purchase an item one-off, this store conveniently provides two finance options.
You can pay later with Klarna which will allow you to shop now and pay in 3 monthly instalments. You can also pay using Clearpay which will split your purchase across 4 instalments, due every two weeks.
We find it admirable that Pandora makes several efforts towards a more sustainable environment. For example, they are focused on creating a low carbon business, and they use recycled gold and silver.
Sadly, some customers found their staff to be rude and disinterested. We discovered several instances wherein customers were talked back to or ignored altogether.
Others have also commented on their long waiting times which is highly inconvenient for those who have busy schedules.
We hope they could fix these issues by coaching employees or implementing management training sessions. Doing so will help improve the quality of their customer service.
Overall, we highly recommend Pand0ora since the shop is eco-friendly, affordable, and offers various finance options.

Pros
- Has been around for more than 100 years
- Award winning shop
- Free next day delivery, 7 days a week
- Interest-free credit up to 4 years
- Price promise
Cons
- Expensive
- No seasonal sales or permanent discounts of any kind
Beaverbrooks has been around for more than 100 years which really impressed us. It’s no surprise that they have accumulated numerous awards in the jewellery industry.
They have won awards consistently since 1992, and you can view all of them on their website. Most recently, Beaverbrooks has won the UK Jewellery Awards 2022 Employer of the Year and the 2022 No Zero Employer Gold Award.
This shop has great delivery services. They offer free, next day delivery seven days a week which is pretty awesome compared to the delivery services of other jewellery shops.
If you found a similar item of jewellery from another shop, you can ask this shop to match its price due to its price promise policy.
For those who want to pay in instalments, then this shop is for you. This store offers interest-free credit up to 4 years.
Since this is a top-notch shop, the prices of their items seem to reflect their status by being a bit higher. For example, a 9-carat white gold diamond solitaire ring on sale actually costs a whopping £1,125.
Catering to the high-end market also means they do not offer seasonal sales or permanent discounts.
Still, Beaverbrooks is worth a look for high quality jewellery pieces in Dundee. You can simply put the items you love on a layaway plan.

Pros
- Diamond merchant since 1857
- Carries designer labels
- Has a price promise
Cons
- Pricey designer labels
- Issues with inattentive staff
If you are in Dundee, do drop in Chisholm Hunter for exclusive designer jewellery, engagement rings, and luxury watches
Astoundingly, this family-owned shop has been a trusted diamond merchant since 1857. They have stores all across Scotland and England.
If you are looking for a specific designer brand, they might carry it in their store. Some of the famous designer labels they carry are Fabergé, Balmain, and Gucci which add to their prestige.
Similar to Beaverbrooks, this shop also offers a price promise. Thus, if you find a cheaper version of a jewellery piece that they have, they will match the price.
Of course, since they sell gorgeous designer jewellery pieces, their items tend to be on the pricey side. For instance, their very own label, Chisholm Hunter, sells a 9-carat white gold diamond cluster ring for £1,350.
Some customers have also reported their staff to be inattentive. They seem more interested in chatting with each other than attending to customers.
If you happen to experience this, simply report the offending staff member to his or her supervisor.
If you do have the budget for high-end jewellery pieces, then we recommend a visit to Chisholm Hunter in Dundee.
