Pros

  • Almost 30 years in the business
  • Has Scotland’s largest showroom
  • Offers a good range of prices
  • Has a Furniture Hire service
  • Provides discounts if you trade in your existing office furniture
  • Speedy delivery service

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays
  • No prices on their in-store display

Having been in the business for 30 years, we think that Office Furniture Centre Ltd should definitely be a go-to for your office furniture needs. Known for having Scotland’s largest showroom, they have over £500k worth of impressive office furniture!

They also purchase larger volumes of furniture from their suppliers, which allows them to sell their products at a relatively lower price point.

For instance, an Affordable Solution 1200mm rectangular desk costs only £119 while a Solution 3 lever mesh chair goes for only £135.

They also have a one-of-a-kind Furniture Hire service. Meaning, you can rent their office furniture for a certain period of time instead of buying straight away.

Customers have also reported having seamless customer experiences.

For instance, on their website, customers were presented with clear product images and descriptions. Upon deciding to visit the store, clerks were able to efficiently show the products they wanted online.

Additionally, they have a speedy delivery service. They can even deliver them on the same day of purchase, depending on the number of items and your location.

However, a few customers have complained that their items do not have prices on in-store displays. They found it inconvenient to have to look for a store assistant everytime they wanted to know the price of an item.

In this case, we recommend that you have a list of items that you are in the market for. Then, you can simply hand the list over to a store assistant.

As a whole, we highly recommend this store for their spacious showroom and affordable office furniture.

Pros

  • High-quality furniture
  • Lifetime guarantee
  • Spacious store
  • Scandinavian design
  • Free styling advice
  • Offers free samples of fabrics and materials

Cons

  • Pricey products
  • Expensive delivery fees

BoConcept Glasgow is known for their high quality furniture, making them one of the top office furniture stores in the area. They’re so confident in their furniture quality that they offer lifetime guarantees!

Their actual store in Glasgow is beautifully decked in the latest Scandinavian design. It’s spacious and bright, which is great for customers who love to browse.

What’s cool about this store is that if you are in need of aesthetic choices or space planning, you can simply book a no-obligation chat online. Their skilled design consultants will be happy to give you some free styling advice.

Not only that, but they also offer free samples which we think is awesome, as not all stores do the same. You can build your own design plan by choosing from over 120 different fabrics and materials.

Of course, quality comes at a price, so expect their prices to be on the higher end of the spectrum. For example, the cheapest office chair they have, a black plastic swivel chair named the Adelaide, costs £539.

Their delivery fees are also comparatively more expensive. For small items, such as a mirror, they could charge you £69.

If you have a tight budget to consider, this might not be the most practical option. However, for those who prioritise quality and design, we highly-recommend BoConcept Glasgow.

Pros

  • Established in 1952
  • Open daily
  • Courteous and efficient staff
  • Efficient phone service
  • Has a price match promise
  • Sells well known high-quality brands

Cons

  • A bit pricey
  • Has delivery issues
  • Hard to access for people who are in wheelchairs

Hampton & McMurray is one of the top office furniture shops in Glasgow for a few good reasons.

From what we’ve heard, most of their customers rave about their courteous and efficient staff members. Apparently, they have several delightful and helpful attendants, which made the buying experience a real delight.

The same pleasant experience can be said of over-the-phone orders, as well. It seems that customers have fuss-free and easy online transactions because of their well-trained staff.

For the budget-conscious, you’ll be happy to know that they have a price match policy. Simply show the competing product to their store manager, and they’ll give you a better price.

This is great because their products tend to be on the pricier side. For instance, a simple Ercol Mia bare wooden desk can set you back £699, while other stores sell this desk for relatively cheaper.

Unfortunately, there have been reports of late deliveries, but we admire the way that the store handled them. They did not charge anything for the deliveries, and they apologised profusely as well, which managed to appease their customers.

One important thing to note is that this store might not be easily accessible for those in a wheelchair. Not only is this store situated on a steep incline, but the cluttered layout of the store would make it difficult for those in wheelchairs to move about.

Hopefully, they can improve the store’s layout to help make it more accessible for people with walking disabilities.

If you value customer service above all else, then we think that this would be the perfect shop to do your office furniture shopping.

Pros

  • Family-owned business for over 75 years
  • Friendly and knowledgeable staff
  • Can offer a complete project management package
  • Provides quarterly deals
  • Furniture is exactly the same as advertised online

Cons

  • Some prices are not available online
  • Closed on the weekends

Chrystal & Hill is a respected family-owned business that has been successfully trading for 75 years.

This Glasgow office furniture shop is known for their friendly and competent staff. Customers always felt welcome and heard whenever they stepped inside their store.

What’s special about Chrystal & Hill is that they offer a complete project management package. They will take care of the space planning, layout, delivery scheduling, and even the assembly on site – which would be incredibly helpful for busy customers.

For the budget-conscious, they provide quarterly deals that you can take advantage of. Simply click the relevant link on their website, and it will take you to a Chrystal & Hill online brochure filled with discounted items.

Once you browse online, however, you might also find some items that do not have a price. Instead, the price section would state “please call”, which kind of defeats the purpose of online shopping being convenient.

Also, those who can only shop during the weekends might have to make do with online shopping since their physical store is closed on Saturdays & Sundays.

As a whole, we do recommend this store for those who are in need of a complete project management package. This shop would also be good for those who love leafing through discount brochures.

Pros

  • Industry veteran – established in 1987
  • Offers finance options via Paypal
  • Known for their unique furniture selection
  • Spacious premises and parking

Cons

  • Relatively more expensive pieces
  • Has had some item quality issues

The Store Interior is a thriving office furniture shop in Glasgow. They started their shop in 1987 and is a go-to store for many locals to this day.

They’re best known for their “Unique Furniture” selection which includes one-of-a-kind pieces. Albeit a tad more expensive, you do get something with character that’s exclusively yours.

On the other hand, some of their pieces are quite pricey. One example is a simple Carter swivel office chair which goes for a whopping £399, while the same chair is being sold elsewhere at a lower price point.

Thankfully, they offer flexible payment options; one of which includes convenient Paypal payments in three interest-free installments.

However, their furniture seems to lack consistency in quality. Apparently, some customers purchased what they were told to be solid wood items, only to find out that the items only had wood veneers.

Not only does this reflect the sales attendant’s lack of knowledge, but we also feel that it’s irresponsible as well. We do hope this store can work on these issues for it to stay as one of the top office furniture shops in the area.

On the plus side, the store interior is quite spacious and wheelchair-accessible, with ample parking outside. This is great for those who plan on driving their own vans or trucks to haul their purchases.

But if you don’t have a vehicle big enough to fit your purchases, their delivery service is top-notch.

One notable example was when a sofa couldn’t fit in the customer’s house. The team was so friendly and came back another day with a solution (arms were removed and put back in place when placed inside).
