Slateford Dental Care pretty much covers everything you might need if you’re planning to get dental implants. They also provide bone grafting methods when necessary, making sure you undergo the necessary procedures. 

What impressed us was their use of modern technology. Digital X-rays and 3D imaging aren’t just for show, either; they provide the team with ultravision to plan the implant placement more accurately, which means better results.

The team themselves are professional but approachable. Dentists, hygienists, and dental therapists all work together smoothly, and the focus on aftercare is obvious. You don’t just leave with a new implant—they schedule follow-ups and give advise to avoid any mishaps. 

Just note that they’re closed on weekends, and appointments can fill up quickly, so booking ahead is a must.

On the plus side, they offer 0% interest finance for 12 months and Denplan options starting around £17 per month, which makes it easier to manage the cost.

On top of that, the clinic also has a team of specialists, including Dr. Duncan, an implantologist with impressive experience in restorative dentistry. 

The best part? With their All-on-4 and Same Day Teeth procedure, you can be in and out of their clinic with a full set of temporary teeth in one day. This isn’t just great for those strapped for time; it’s also ideal if you have reduced bone density. 

The catch? Well, you’ll need to shell out quite a bit for either their basic or All-on-4 procedures. And they don’t have financing options to help you get started in more manageable instalments. 

Still, we appreciate that their rates are readily available online, so you won’t get blindsided by their quotes.

Speaking of confidence, their team is also confident in planning every implant with surgical-level precision, thanks to their CT-guided surgery and digital mapping. 

Another cool thing is that they use top-tier titanium from reputable brands with solid scientific backing. 

Kudos to their aftercare, too. After your implant is done, you’d still get personalised care from their hygiene therapist, and they’ll do annual reviews with x-rays to keep an eye on your implant health.

On the downside, we did come across reports of long wait times, even for those who come in early before their appointment. 

The silver lining? They offer emergency dental services, even if you’re not an existing client. They’ll aim to fit you in within the day and provide one-off pain relief.

What caught our attention the most is that Haymarket Dental has been serving Edinburgh for more than a century, so many methods and cases have been passed down to be used to their advantage—blending tradition with innovation. 

We noted how they have profound expertise and credentials in the field. For instance, Dr. Andrew Norman undertook extensive 18-month training at the PID Academy and continues professional development yearly. 

Tech-wise, they use CEREC digital dentistry for same-day crown restorations and CT-guided implant mapping. This also means reducing clinic visits and giving accurate, efficient results. 

But we did notice some hiccups, particularly with their lack of regency in dealing with and addressing client cancers after their treatment. Also, there’s no NHS funding, so all implant work is private.

That said, we appreciate that, after implant placement, patients receive hygiene appointments and annual X-ray reviews to monitor their implant condition over time.

The highlight for Cherrybank Dental Spa is that they emphasise comfort. To give you an idea, they use numbing gel, warmed anaesthetic, ultra-fine needles, gentle injection, and laser technology—they’ll even give you a refund if you feel pain during treatment.

It’s also worth mentioning that if you have multiple failing teeth or don’t want dentures, they can place 4 to 6 implants and attach a temporary bridge in just one day. So, you can leave with working teeth and a confident smile. 

If you’re wondering about the quality of their implants, they use top-tier implant brands and are one of the few clinics in town to place implants with a Gentle Dental Laser. Thanks to this, it reduces trauma, swelling, and healing time.

You might get anxious about your bill, though. Since there’s no NHS funding for all services like implants and full-arch options, you’ll have to pay privately. 

And just like healing, we love how their clinic feels like a spa. This environment can help anxious patients feel calm throughout their implant journey.
