Pros

  • Open daily
  • Great showroom with a large selection on display
  • Comparatively short lead time
  • Monthly special offers
  • One-year warranty for blinds & curtains

Cons

  • Reports of blinds breaking down
  • Complaints on overcharges being handled poorly

For those who love browsing through a shop before purchasing, we think Zone would be a good option for you.

Not only is their shop open all week, but customers also loved their spacious showroom. We like the fact that they have a large selection of window blinds on display, allowing customers to fully visualise the products in their own homes.

Customers also appreciated the speedy response of their installers. For instance, some customers witnessed them putting up the blinds in only 15 minutes.

For the budget-conscious, this shop offers special discounts that change every month which we appreciate. You can simply go online or call them up to check the latest discounts you can take advantage of.

We also think that their one-year warranty for blinds & curtains is a plus. This helps in reassuring customers that they can still be taken care of after the installation.

Unfortunately, we heard some reports of blinds being easily damaged after installation. When customers called them up for repair requests, they did not respond.

There were also instances of errors in billing which caused overcharges. While the charges were eventually refunded, it took them a while to do so, which was quite inconvenient for the customers.

In the future, they might want to promptly take care of the blinds that were easily damaged to ensure that they receive repeat business.

Pros

  • East Renfrewshire Trusted Trader
  • Best Business of 2022 by Three Best Rated
  • Supports the Make It Safe campaign
  • Invests in staff and the local community

Cons

  • Comparatively longer lead time
  • No resolutions for minor issues with blinds

If you prioritise credibility, then you might want to consider Glasgow’s The Blind Guy & Shutters. As members of the East Renfrewshire Trusted Trader, we think this shop is a solid shop for your window blinds installation needs.

We also applaud them for being the Best Business of 2022 by Three Best Rated. This shows their commitment to the window blinds industry.

One thing unique about this shop is that it supports the Make It Safe campaign established by The British Blind and Shutter Association (BBSA). This ensures the effective development of standards for internal window blinds for safety.

We also like that they invest in their staff and the local community. They boast that over 90% of their window blinds are made in Scotland.

Comparatively, however, their lead times seem longer, depending on the type. Electric blinds can take up to 10-14 weeks while real wood shutter blinds would take up to 7-14 weeks.

There were also reports of minor issues with the blinds that were not resolved. Even after multiple calls and follow-ups, some of the faulty blinds were not repaired or even looked at.

Hopefully, these issues with their turnaround times and repair requests can be resolved to help provide a smoother customer experience.

Pros

  • Has a roster of prestigious clients
  • Relatively fast turnaround time
  • Blinds made from high quality material
  • Offers a 5-year guarantee

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays
  • Has a limited selection of blinds

For high quality blinds that are installed seamlessly, we can recommend Nova Blinds.

First off, we are impressed by their prestigious roster of clients, which include the local councils, some letting agencies, the Faslane Submarine Base, and local property developers and builders.

Apparently, they provide fast service as well. Some customers shared that their new blinds onlny took about a week and a half to arrive and only a couple hours to install.

Others even reported that their blinds were installed well ahead of the predicted date.

According to former customers, their workers were also calm and professional. Not only that, they seem to have high attention to detail, which is important in guaranteeing quality workmanship.

This shop is also proud of its high quality blinds. They carry the Senses Mirage label which combines the style of Senses and the flexibility of the Mirage fabric, offering improved light control.

We are also impressed with their warranty coverage. For instance, all existing roller blinds from manual to remote control come with a 5-year guarantee.

Just note that if you’re a weekend visitor, your only option is to pop around on a Saturday.

They also have a limited selection of blinds to choose from, which is unfortunate. They focus mostly on wooden, rollers, and Roman blinds, so if you are set on having Venetian blinds, you need to look elsewhere.

Pros

  • Has been offering quality window blinds since 1972
  • Free quote with home visit
  • Has well-priced seasonal offers
  • Has 3-year guarantees for window blinds

Cons

  • Long turnaround time for installations
  • Some reports of no-shows for scheduled appointments
  • Reports of unskilled installers

Apollo Blinds has been selling quality window blinds since 1972, so we are not surprised that they are well-known in Glasgow.

They conveniently offer a free quote along with a home visit. This is great since customers would not feel pressured to order right away without hearing their recommendations.

For those who are keen on special discounts and deals, you’d be happy to know that this shop offers seasonal deals. You can simply go online or call them up to check which deals would be suitable for you.

They also offer 3-year guarantees for window blinds, which we think is much better than the standard one year that other shops provide.

Sadly, customers have mentioned the long wait times they had to endure. For instance, some of them had to wait five whole weeks just for a simple fitting.

Some customers also experienced no-shows during scheduled appointments. Whether the wait was two hours or two weeks (yes, some customers actually experienced this!), we think this is quite unprofessional and needs immediate addressing.

There were also complaints regarding the skills of the installers. We received various reports from previous customers –  from walls being damaged to rollers not functioning properly.

We do hope they take the time to train their installers in terms of proper installation and time management.

Pros

  • Offers a one-year guarantee on all products
  • Fast turnaround time for fittings

Cons

  • Only offers four types of blinds
  • Reports of wrong blinds received and faulty installations
  • Instances of non-service and non-refunds

Another solid option for your window blinds needs is Bill’s Blinds. This shop offers a one-year guarantee on all products, which we think is sufficient.

We are impressed by their fast turnaround time for fittings. Customers reported that the process took less than a week – from the initial meeting to the actual fitting of the blinds.

What’s great about this window blinds shop is their very helpful consultants. Based on what we’ve heard, they were always ready to drop off samples, send pictures, and answer any queries the customers had.

Do note that they only have four types of blinds: Venetian, shutters, vertical blinds, and Roman blinds. So, you would need to fall in love with one of these or try another shop.

There were also reports of delivery and installation issues, which we think are very inconvenient. Some customers received the wrong types and sizes of blinds while others had concerns about the quality of the installation.

We were also dismayed by reports of customers paying for deposits but not receiving any service at all. This is not a good way to do business, and we do hope that management has already made the necessary amends to appease the clients.

Some also asked for refunds but were apparently ignored by management. Even though they agreed to provide refunds over the phone, they kept delaying it until the customers gave up.

We believe that if they conscientiously work on these issues, they’ll be able to provide a great customer experience for their clients.
