The 9 Best Wedding Photography Services in Glasgow

BK Photography

How we picked

Packages

We eyed photographers that offer a wide array of packages with assorted inclusions, coverages, and lengths to suit any budget.

Versatility

We chose photographers that can capture all the best moments of your wedding in a style that best resonates with the bride and groom.

Pros

  • Open 6 days a week
  • Offers money-back guarantee
  • Fully insured
  • WoolSafe-approved cleaning solutions and treatments
  • Problem-specific cleaning treatments available

Cons

  • Packages lack pricing information
  • Often fully booked

What we liked best about Fotogenic of Scotland is their extensive experience photographing couples’ weddings and civil partnerships all over Scotland, the UK, and abroad.

Their team of 4 is well known in the industry, photographing over 500 weddings. Many of their work is featured in popular publications such as Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle, and The Knot.

Aside from that, all of their work is well-documented in their online portfolio, which we highly suggest browsing through. In our opinion, this gives interested clients a firsthand look at the quality of their skills and signature aesthetic.

Hence, it’s no surprise that they’re often fully booked, which has left them unavailable to entertain some interested clients. So, we highly suggest contacting them as soon as you have a wedding date set.

It’s worth highlighting that they don’t box themselves into a single style. We love how they can play around with their environment, from romantic to artsy.

We were impressed that they’ve worked at many popular wedding locations across Scotland. Their team has also covered weddings of all sizes and cultures, from Asian to traditional Scottish weddings.

We love that they showcase their previous work at these locations as it gives interested clients a better idea of what their own wedding photos could look like.

It’s also great to note that they’re insured for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity. So, this is one less thing to worry about.

As for their packages, we were a tad disappointed that there isn’t readily available information on their pricing matrix. Hence, you’ll have to phone them to enquire.

Nevertheless, we were glad to see a variety of add-ons such as a crystal flash drive for digital copies, a box for prints, a classic album, and a storybook.

Their turnaround time for prints is 14 days, which we think is quite fast. Here, they’ll perform minimal edits such as colour correcting, retouches, and exposure correcting.

2. Rhiannon Neale Photography

Pros

  • Has 10 years of professional experience
  • Has experience capturing weddings at highlands, woodlands, and urban settings
  • Reasonably priced fees
  • Extensive online portfolio
  • All packages include high-resolution pictures without watermarks
  • Insured for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity

Cons

  • No pricing matrix
  • Closed on Sundays

Even though she’s Glasgow-based, Rhiannon Neale is a professional photographer with 10 years of experience that doesn’t shy away from capturing weddings and elopements across Scotland.

Since she’s quite laid back herself, Neale has a preference for relaxed weddings. While this may discourage those with big or formal weddings planned, it’s worth noting that Neale has captured weddings in Scotland’s highlands, woodlands, and urban settings.

You’ll see a clear reflection of her creatively candid and contemporary documentary style in many of her past works. So, if this resonates with how you envision your wedding photos to turn out, we suggest arranging an initial appointment ASAP.

We love that her packages and pricing information are easily accessible on her website. Though, we’d like a tad more details on the inclusions of her packages.

Her fees start from £695 for wee weddings, packages from £1295 for half-day weddings, packages from £1995 for full-day weddings, and from £2500 for destination weddings.

It’s also worth highlighting that all her packages include high-resolution copies of your wedding pictures and printing rights, so clients won’t have to worry about watermarks.

She also offers a few add-ons such as albums, photo books, wall art, and prints, which clients can include in their packages.

To boot, she’s fully insured for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity. So, that’s one less thing to stress out over.

But here’s the hitch: she’s incredibly sought-after, leaving only a few slots for 2023 (yes, you read the year right). While we admire her work-life balance, this is a bummer for many hopeful couples.

We also think that the turnover period for her photos is quite long at 8 weeks. Though, we don’t think it’s completely terrible.

Pros

  • Have over 10 years of experience as a wedding photographer and planner
  • Deploy 2 photographers
  • Will give clients all shots that they can
  • Eco-friendly packaging and production
  • All packages include high-resolution pictures without watermarks
  • Large online portfolio

Cons

  • No readily viewable pricing matrix
  • Package information lacks details

What we found most unique about The Gibsons Photography is that they have over 10 years of experience as both wedding photographers and planners.

Hence, they have a knack for knowing when and where to get the best shots, as well as making sure the photo shoots for the day are well-organised.

We think it’s worth noting that their personal style is quite romantic, natural, and fun. Hence, we highly encourage you to browse through their portfolio if that’s the look you’re going for.

They’ve even been featured in several top wedding publications such as Belle Bebes, Whimsical Wonderland Weddings, and Scottish Wedding Directory.

We also appreciate that they deploy two photographers at the wedding. We think this helps them maximise the coverage and capture more moments at different angles.

Since they use a documentary style when capturing, we think this makes them a great choice for couples looking for relaxed yet romantic photos.

It’s also worth highlighting that they take the extra step to be more environmentally friendly. In particular, they only use local environmentally-responsible manufacturers when printing and use eco-friendly packaging.

We were also impressed to find out that they give clients all the images that they can, whether or not they make it to the final cut. We appreciate that they respect when clients have a sentimental connection with photos.

To find out about their packages and pricing information, you’ll have to call to enquire. This may be a tad inconvenient for some, but at least you’ll get the updated rates for the season your wedding date is part of.

On a brighter note, we were happy to know that all their high-resolution images don’t include a watermark. This way, clients can enjoy the beauty of the original photograph.

  • Employs a collaborative approach to wedding photography
  • Tokens are included in wedding packages
  • Clients can opt to add an extra photographer for a fee
  • Pricing matrix available

Cons

  • A bit expensive
  • Quite busy due to popularity

What we liked best about David Grant Simpson Photography is its approach to getting the best shots. In particular, we appreciate that they make it a point to get to know the couple, their story, and their vision for their wedding to create a collaborative strategy.

In our opinion, this pays off well as each couple has a uniquely personal touch in all of their photos. Their work has even been featured in a few popular blogs such as We Fell In Love, Smashing the Glass, and Love My Dress.

Another thing we liked was that they have information on their packages readily available on their website. This way, interested couples can explore with ease.

They offer a half-day package (5-6 hours coverage) from £1,395 and a full-day package (10-12 hours coverage) from £1995. They also cover mini weddings starting from £1,395 and elopements starting from £1,195.

While we did find their prices a bit expensive, we were delighted to see that their packages and mini wedding coverage include a set number of high-resolution photos, a wooden USB box, a highlights slideshow with music, and an online gallery.

Clients can also choose to have personalised albums made starting at £250. We also like the option to add another photographer for £595 in case couples are looking for additional hands.

Another thing we found impressive about David is the dedication he has to his craft. We even heard from his past clients that David drove them to another location to take more picturesque photos, which weren’t even part of the job.

We were happy to hear from another client that David’s personable character made them feel comfortable, resulting in natural-looking photos.

Due to his popularity, we suggest you contact him ASAP to book your dates.

Pros

  • Has over 15 years of experience
  • Best known for classic, timeless, and natural-looking photos
  • Quick turnover period for photos and slideshow
  • Packages are inclusive of tokens
  • Offers photography and videography packages

Cons

  • A tad longer turnover period for albums at 6 weeks

Carrie Roy Wedding Photography has been in the industry for over 15 years, capturing hundreds of weddings across Scotland.

What many, us included, love about their photography style is that it’s classic and timeless but doesn’t have any of the stiffness or awkwardness that comes with ‘normal’ wedding photos.

What’s great about Carrie is her carefree and outgoing personality, which helps clients feel more at ease around her. In our opinion, it’s her personality and skills combined that help her produce beautiful, natural-looking photos.

Based on our assessment, this is evident in a tonne of her previous work, which you can view in her online gallery.

Did we mention that they also offer videography and photography packages? They’ve teamed up with Something New to provide an all-in-one service.

We also appreciate that she has quite a speedy turnover period at 3 weeks for the USB and slideshow. Though, album designs will not be out until 6 weeks after the wedding.

They also offer two kinds of storybook albums starting at £699 for those who’d like a physical copy of their best shots.

It’s also great that clients can easily pay their deposit fee via her website to confirm their slot. In our opinion, this is an added convenience that we think other photographers should adopt.
