When we began searching for legal guidance on property matters, Grayson LLP was a referral. With their national presence and reputation across Scotland, we were curious to understand how their real estate legal services held up in practice.

During our inquiry, we spoke with their conveyancing department to get a feel for the process and clarity on their scope. They cover a full real estate cycle, from purchase to sale to rental promotion.

We were particularly impressed with their in-house legal and property experts working under one roof. They took time to explain how their team manages conveyancing, property management, and even dispute resolution.

They use a client portal for updates and document handling, which is very convenient. Their office in Glasgow was easy to find and quite busy, as we had experienced when we tried getting in touch with them several times.

So, that’s the issue we had with them—slow responses to phone calls. We had to call more than once to get in touch with them, which may not sit well if you’re on a tight timeline.

Helping my aunt sort through the title deeds of a property that hadn’t been touched for a long time wasn’t exactly how we planned the week, but that’s exactly how we ended up checking out The Glasgow Law Practice.

We visited McVey and Murricane’s Glasgow office, and the first thing we noticed was a communication gap. While the staff was courteous, we had to follow up ourselves for updates more than once about our property case.

Their approach to updates might not suit you if you want a lawyer who keeps you in the loop without the need to remind them.

That said, once we sat down with one of their solicitors, things moved smoothly. With over 60 years of experience in proper law, their reputation is well-earned.

We found their legal approach very methodical. They explained how they handle title checks, contract reviews, and property registration, while also giving a rundown on common conveyancing pitfalls in today’s market.

Their office staff was well-versed in dealing with lenders and developers, and they’re equipped with a digital platform that lets you access your documents securely.

They also assist with lending, re-mortgaging, and residential development cases, making them a solid option if you’re dealing with more than just a standard buy or sell.

We had the chance to visit Jones Whyte’s Glasgow office, and right from the reception area, things felt professional and organised. Their team walked us through the entire conveyancing process clearly—no overcomplications or vague terms.

One of the real strengths of the firm is how it personalises legal support. Rather than pushing pre-set packages, they took time to ask about our situation and offered realistic options based on timelines, cost, and urgency.
