Pros
- Sufficient range of specialisations and services
- Known and experienced in sports medicine
- Free subsequent treatments after nail surgery
Cons
- Website a bit lacking in information
- Clinic hours can be confusing
The Brougham Foot Clinic has some of Midlothian’s premier podiatrists and chiropodists. They are fully qualified to give podiatry and chiropody treatments for a multitude of injuries and conditions.
The Brougham Foot Clinic is a family-run clinic, with George Rendall and Katherine Rendall at the forefront. We find that they truly try to provide the utmost care to their patients by correctly diagnosing them and giving appropriate treatment.
Moreover, they’re especially known for sports medicine, having treated athletes, footballers, and rugby players from school children level, professional and international levels, and even Olympic athletes.
But the Brougham Foot Clinic isn’t limited to that field. They also handle routine podiatry, chiropody, nail surgery, foot mobilisation, orthotics, and other foot injuries. If problems arise from the same nail, they will perform treatment again for free.
There are almost no negative things to be said about this clinic, besides that their website is a bit lacking in staff and doctor information. We find that their irregular schedule can also be confusing, but it is understandable since they are family-run.
If you’ve never visited a podiatrist before and are feeling nervous about your first visit, try The Brougham Foot Clinic. We appreciate how their clinic atmosphere is assuring and relaxing, which is helpful for patients who are more on the uneasy side.

Pros
- Edinburgh branch is accessible
- Can handle a wide range of services
- Impressive medical equipment
Cons
- Irregular clinic hours
- Busier than other clinics
Active Feet, previously Podiatry Plus Scotland, is dedicated to alleviating the foot ailments of the community. They’re a relatively large business, as they also have another branch in Haddington.
Their team of five responsible for managing the clinic are all active and ambitious individuals who aim to alleviate the pains and ailments of the community. Moreover, all of their podiatrists are HCPC registered, which ensures patients’ safety.
Their Edinburgh branch is accessible to commuters, with a metred parking right outside and free parking in the surrounding streets. They also have an impressive array of equipment for 3D Gait Analysis, Noveon Nail Laser, Swift Microwave Therapy, etc.
As for services, they are equipped to handle routine podiatry, toenail podiatry, verruca treatment, orthotics, diabetic foot care, fungal toenail treatment, toenail reconstruction, and children’s podiatry.
Like Brougham Foot Clinic, Active Feet has received stellar patient feedback on review sites. However, they have unusual clinic hours as well, which makes it difficult for customers to find a regular schedule.
It’s also one of the busier clinics on our list, so it’s best to make an appointment before dropping by. But overall, Active Feet is a fantastic option as it has a wide range of services that are sure to offer you some relief from your discomfort.

Pros
- Years of industry experience
- Awarded as one of the top three podiatry clinics in Edinburgh
- Offers house call services
Cons
- Appointments and treatments can feel rushed
- Costs more than most
- Can be busy
With more than 33 years of business, Trinity Podiatry is well-known in the industry. As a testament to their service, they have been recently acknowledged by ThreeBestRated as one of the top three most trusted podiatry clinics in Edinburgh.
Head podiatrist Jacqui Baggaley and her team work to tend to patients’ needs, from providing general advice on foot problems and footwear information to a selection of chiropody procedures and solutions.
Their comprehensive range of treatments includes athlete’s foot treatment, corn treatment, hard skin removal, insole fitting, plantar fasciitis, orthotics, pain treatment, bunion treatment, calluses treatment, and ingrown toenail treatment, among others.
Trinity Podiatry also offers house calls to perform basic treatments. We haven’t seen this option in other clinics, which makes it a unique one that’s definitely beneficial for patients who are unable to leave their homes due to conditions or circumstances.
However, appointments at Trinity Podiatry can feel a bit rushed depending on the podiatrist. This is something we hope they improve on because it can discourage first-time patients from feeling at ease, and is not worth their more expensive costs.
Still, Trinity Podiatry is a reputable clinic that’s visited by patients from as far away as London, Newcastle, Glasgow, Aberdeen, and Dundee. As with Active Feet, make sure to book online because Trinity Podiatry is also quite a busy place.

Pros
- Stellar reviews online
- Wide range of services
- Specialty with dry needling technique
Cons
- Only one podiatrist available
- Shared premises with dental clinic
- Prices a bit higher
Last but not the least is Bruntsfield Chiropody & Podiatry, another well-rated podiatrist clinic in Barclay Place, Edinburgh. In service since 1986, this place was formerly called Care for Sport.
Eric Parker is the lone chiropodist and podiatrist in this clinic, which he runs with his staff. Bruntsfield Chiropody & Podiatry is an accessible clinic that has a lot of returning customers, especially ones that are from the area.
Despite being the only practitioner, Eric offers a wide range of treatments for corns, callus, verrucas, athlete’s foot, flat feet, ingrown toenails, fungal infections, shin splints, and other foot problems.
Unlike Easter Road Podiatry, treating verrucae using a dry needling technique is one of Bruntsfield Chiropody & Podiatry’s specialisations. Patients have also praised the bespoke insoles that have been provided by Bruntsfield Chiropody & Podiatry.
Bruntsfield Chiropody & Podiatry clinic does share premises with a dental clinic which be a bit confusing and hectic at times, but patients are often welcomed hospitably. Prices have also been raised quite a bit following the events of the pandemic.
But all in all, Bruntsfield Chiropody & Podiatry is a top choice for patients with verrucae who want an effective and mostly painless treatment via dry needling. Their other services are also listed conveniently on their site if you want to check them out.

Pros
- More than a decade of experience
- Team of fully qualified, HCPC- registered Podiatrists
- Evidence-based practice
- Knowledgeable team
- Solely a podiatry clinic not shared with anyone
Cons
- Schedule unavailable
- Website can be improved
Ferry Road Foot Clinic was established in 2010 and is made up of a team of fully qualified, HCPC- registered Podiatrists.
They have more than 22 years of experience in both NHS and Private sectors so you’re sure that they have the knowledge and experience to help anyone the best that they can.
What we like about them is how they work exclusively on evidence-based practice. This way we’re sure they’re not haphazardly suggesting any treatment.
We think it’s great that they also offer a full range of foot treatments—from luxury routine care to biomechanics assessment and insoles prescription. Anything that has to do with the foot they can do!
Their team is also very wonderful. They have the all the knowledge they need to give the best advice and also share all the information so their patients know better and can take care of themselves.
We’ve asked many of their past clients and they all pretty much say the same thing—they highly recommend!
