A1 Relationship Counselling offers relationship counselling services designed to help individuals, couples, and families work through conflict, communication breakdowns, and emotional distance. The service is positioned as supportive and practical, helping clients better understand one another and move toward positive resolutions.
The approach focuses on identifying the underlying causes of relationship challenges rather than simply addressing surface-level disagreements. This can be especially beneficial for those experiencing recurring conflicts or long-term relationship difficulties.
One notable aspect of the service is its emphasis on mediation alongside counselling. Through couples mediation and conflict resolution support, clients can receive structured guidance to resolve disputes in a more neutral and constructive environment.
The counselling is delivered by a practitioner with experience across relationship counselling, family counselling, individual counselling, and mediation. Sessions are available both in person and online via Zoom, WhatsApp, and FaceTime, providing clients with flexible access to support wherever they are. This allows clients to receive both emotional support and practical conflict resolution strategies tailored to their circumstances.
The service also highlights flexibility in addressing a wide range of personal and relationship concerns, including family dynamics and financial issues. This broader scope helps make sessions more holistic rather than narrowly focused.
Clients are encouraged to explore whether the counsellor is the right fit before making a longer-term commitment. This can be an important part of the process, as trust and comfort often play a significant role in achieving positive outcomes.
Overall, A1 Relationship Counselling presents itself as a structured and experienced practice offering relationship counselling, couples mediation, conflict resolution support, family counselling, individual counselling, and convenient online counselling sessions via Zoom, WhatsApp, and FaceTime for those seeking to strengthen relationships and improve communication.

Having your name front and centre like Natalia Fair Counselling Glasgow is a power move, especially given her experience—over 15 years deep. She holds a Master of Science in Global Mental Health and a Psychology degree, which gives us confidence that you’re working with someone who knows what they’re doing.
That said, she has a strong focus on relationship counselling, so you can expect methods that are specifically tailored for couples. We also like that she creates an approachable and non-judgmental environment; you feel heard without feeling patronised but still pushed toward meaningful insight.
The couples we chatted with also shared how the sessions are grounded in real life rather than being overly theoretical. It makes it easier for them to apply insights outside the counselling room.
If you’re not too sure if therapy can help you, you can take advantage of their free 15-minute consultation to get a feel of what they can offer. Weekends are a no-go, but you can easily check their pricing online.

To get it out of the way, Relationships Scotland isn’t just one counselling centre; it’s a network of around 21 member services supporting people across mainland and island Scotland.
The best part? They operate on a low-cost donation model to make services more accessible–give or take £35–£50 per session—but you’re also not refused help if you can’t afford to donate.
And you can look forward to quality sessions, since the counsellors are retained through Relationship Scotland’s own training route. We appreciate that they emphasise consistent professional expectations and ensure that practitioners are competent and accountable.
We’re also impressed to hear that around 99% of clients would recommend their services to others—a tell-tale sign that their sessions are effective.
It’s a bummer that they’re closed on weekends, and availability can change depending on your location. Still, we like that their process is structured, from initial calls and assessments to intake sessions and counsellor assignment.
Very beneficial
“We found the Relationship Counselling sessions very beneficial and felt we were being supported and listened to throughout. Having that time to communicate deeply with my partner which encouraged us to be more open and honest with what we want in a relationship and to realize there is nothing wrong with that.”
– Client, Testimonial
Light at the end of the tunnel
“I feel we have come a long way. There is still work to do and still a journey ahead, but I can now see a light at the end of the tunnel and I believe we will be ok”
– Client, Testimonial

What we like most about the practice at Counselling & Therapy Scotland CIC is that, alongside marriage counselling, the team also offers therapies like CBT. This means they can tailor support to what your relationship needs rather than applying the same approach for everyone.
On top of that, we found that their team includes psychodynamic practitioners, or those who know how to help you navigate through trauma, self-esteem, and interpersonal issues. So, they can assist couples whose relationship challenges are shaped by past experiences.
As an additional feature, it’s nice to know that you can get emotional support with physical wellness, like nutrition and menopause coaching. These are health aspects that can intersect with relationship stress.
It’s just a shame that they’re closed on weekends, especially for couples who don’t have much time to spare.
The good news is that you can phone them for a free 15-minute consultation, and they have their rates posted online. They even have lower-cost services offered by therapists in training who are regularly supervised.
Great counsellor
“At Counselling and Therapy Scotland I undertook couples and individual counselling. The experience that I had was invaluable in helping during a very difficult time. There I learned better ways of coping and identifying strategies to help manage anxiety and past traumas. Jenny is a great counsellor. I found her to be supportive and reassured that I was in a safe space to be listened to and get the help that I needed.”
– Karen White, Google Review
None of us felt excluded or shamed
“Jenny has provided fantastic counselling services to me and my partner! She was very patient and understanding, always giving plenty of room for expressing feelings and thoughts equally to each of us and continuing to support both of us so none of us felt excluded or shamed for our opinions. We have come so far in a short time with Jenny and have managed to significantly improve our communication and understanding of each other in a short three months! I cannot recommend Jenny enough for anyone who needs a kind and understanding counsellor to speak with, especially couples!”

The team at Psyche Therapy Centre is definitely a standout for us, given that their practitioners are registered with recognised bodies like HCPC, BACP, BPS, and CTAA. These abbreviations might look unfamiliar, but they reassure us about professional competency and ethical practice.
You can expect to receive structured care, offering specific methods to marriage counselling that focus on key relational issues, such as communication, trust rebuilding, and intimacy enhancement.
And if you and your partner are struggling with overlapping issues, the centre also covers family therapy, individual psychology, trauma-informed work and group workshops. You see, having all possible solutions in one place makes for a more holistic support.
The catch? Well, you’re looking at quite steep session fees, with couples therapy usually starting at around £110, pricier than others.
On a positive note, you can access their support remotely or in person. Plus, you can easily set an appointment through their handy booking system.

With over 50 years of operating, Lanarkshire Couple Counselling Service has gained and continues to develop a deep focus on couple relationships. They’ve worked with many different relationship challenges, from early conflict to deep marital problems.
Kudos to the inclusive support they have for both couples and individuals at any stage of their relationship, whether they’re together or not. So, one partner can attend alone if that’s necessary before joint sessions, especially if the other is still hesitant to participate.
Another service we like is their psychosexual and sex addiction therapy, as well as trauma counselling. This is helpful for couples whose difficulties include intimacy, trust, or past painful experiences.
Here’s the thing, though: this location has limited hours, so it might be difficult to work out a schedule if you’re both too busy. But hey, it’s worth setting aside some time since it runs on a low-cost system, so sessions come at a lower price.
