We’re impressed at how SPLINTR puts great focus on designing interiors for hospitality and retail, so they know what an establishment needs based on the type of business.

Their in-house fabrication and joinery is a big win for commercial projects, too. You can expect them to produce custom fixtures and furniture directly, which is perfect if your project needs unique elements like shop fittings or bespoke counters that aren’t readily available elsewhere. 

Another thing we love is their full, integrated process. Their team manages from design to manufacture and on-site project management. So, you won’t have to coordinate between separate contractors, designers, fabricators, etc. 

Here’s the catch: some might feel that their rates can be steep, especially if you’re only working with smaller or residential projects, since SPLINTR is heavily geared towards commercial projects.

But hey, we have to give them props for making sure every aspect of a project stays on time, on budget, and remains true to the original design.

The standout trait with Jane Perfect Interiors is that they emphasise understanding what each client values—their lifestyle, personality, budget, and vision. 

We noticed how Jane listens, takes suggestions seriously, and works collaboratively rather than pushing a rigid style.

It’s promising to see that their team can handle a wide range of project types, like redecorating a single room, doing major renovations, or new builds. 

We also appreciate how they respect a property’s original architectural elements and aim for designs that’ll stand the test of time. This has been a lifesaver for clients who have a period home or value classic style with soul. 

But, we feel a bit concerned that they have a smaller team than others on this list, which consequently means that larger projects take longer than some may want.

With over 20 years of experience, Skela Studio brings that seasoned know-how to the table. They cover everything from residential room makeovers to full commercial fit-outs like boutiques and offices. 

We learned that they have a knack for refurbishing shop interiors, window display styling, signage, lighting, and other customer touch-points in retail. In other words, they understand retail flow, branding, and customer experience—not just interior aesthetics. 

They also run workshops on design, teaching people mood boards, colour/material choices, and more, which is a nice extra. 

The drawback? Their pricing and quotes are quite steep; for instance, you’ll have to spend £230 just for a one-hour online interior design consultation.  

We also noted that since they’re a smaller studio, availability can be limited, so you might need to look elsewhere if you have tight deadlines.

The best part? They’re one of the few firms to use virtual reality in the design phase. You can “walk through” or see your design concept in immersive 3D before committing, which significantly helps with fine-tuning and avoiding surprises. 

On the flipside, technology and access to luxury materials like this come at a high price tag compared to other firms, so be mindful.

Nonetheless, we love that they provide turnkey services, especially if you want minimal involvement in day-to-day management and want everything done at a high standard.
