We spoke with three different English tutors—two specialising in GCSE prep and one focused on creative writing for younger learners. All of them explained their teaching methods clearly and shared sample lesson outlines.

They generally use interactive tools during sessions and follow up with structured feedback reports after each class.

However, the pricing model raised some concerns. MyTutor charges parents significantly more than what tutors receive.

We asked about this directly, and while tutors acknowledged they love teaching through the platform, most said they felt the system wasn’t fair.
