Pros

  • Undertakes all aspects of electrical work
  • Quotes come with a detailed itemized invoice
  • Building Standards Approved Certifier and Select registered electricians
  • Professional and friendly staff

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • No out-of-hours or emergency call services

What’s excellent about K.F. Watson Electrical is that it provides a comprehensive array of virtually all electrical needs. Their Select registered electricians can perform installations, maintenance, certification, and repairs for residential and commercial properties.

With that said, it’s also worth noting that they’re a Building Standards Approved Certifier. This means they’re regulated and qualified to perform electrical work in commercial buildings.

So, it’s unsurprising to find that they’re the go-to electricians of many of the locals in Aberdeen and surrounding areas. This is especially true among landlords and business property owners who want to keep up to date with necessary electrical regulations.

However, remember that they’re only operational on weekdays until 5 PM. So, it was quite a bummer that they don’t offer out-of-hours or emergency call services.

On a brighter note, we like that their free no-obligation quotes are given upon request along with a detailed itemised invoice. So, we have to give it to them in terms of transparency in ensuring clients are well-informed before any work gets done.

We’ve also heard a number of positive comments about their customer service. In particular, many praised their quick and friendly service, barely holding any reservations in recommending them.

Pros

  • Provides domestic, commercial, and industrial electrical services
  • Fully insured NAPIT members and  NICEIC approved
  • Open daily until late and provides emergency services
  • No call-out fee

Cons

  • Some clients may experience booking difficulties due to high demand
  • Relatively young company

We were impressed at the powerhouse that is Safest Electrical. They’re adept in all aspects of electrical work – domestic, commercial, and industrial.

On top of that, all their staff has at least 15 years of individual experience in the industry. To boot, they’re fully insured NAPIT members and  NICEIC approved, too.

Hence, despite being a relatively young company, we’re quite confident in their ability to do all kinds of work, from electrical installations to maintenance. Their past clients can vouch for their skills, too, with many praising their excellent and quick service.

That said, it’s no surprise that their services are highly in demand. Unfortunately, this does mean that a few clients experience booking difficulties as they’re very busy.

On a better note, we were happy to receive word that they have great response times. We think this puts clients at ease, knowing that their contractors can help once available.

Oh, did we mention that they’re open daily until 8 PM? This makes them a perfect candidate for late-night mishaps, especially since they don’t charge a call-out fee.

It’s great that they also provide emergency call-out services. This way, emergencies can be handled promptly without interfering with their regular work day.

Pros

  • Can handle all aspects of electrical work
  • 20+ years of industry experience
  • Open 24/7
  • Has an online store for electrical products
  • Online and flexible payment available
  • Specialises in television installations for as low as  £265

Cons

  • Some issues regarding rude staff
  • A few complaints about absent staff during appointments

For S. O’Connor Electrical Aberdeen, convenience is definitely one of their top priorities. Established in 1996, this family-owned electrical company provides all types of electrical work with no job too small for many of Aberdeen’s local residents and business owners.

We were surprised to find that they also specialise in television installations for as low as £265. This includes sorting out all electrical wiring and cables inside walls, fixing bolts and anchors, and television brackets, among others.

Since they’re open 24 hours daily, we like that clients can phone in any day of the week to avail of their services. This also makes them a viable electrician for emergencies, too.

Another great thing about this company is that they supply various electrical items such as sockets and lighting. We were also pleasantly surprised to find electric showers, smoke alarms, and heat alarms among their product selection.

Convenience doesn’t stop there since clients can simply order and pay for their items online. They accept payments made via Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, and Amex, among other methods.

While everything may seem fine and dandy, we were bummed to find some complaints. To be specific, a few clients had negative experiences regarding rude staff and no-shows at appointments.

Pros

  • Specialises in EV chargers
  • Free no-obligation quotes
  • NICEIC-approved and qualified for the latest 18th Edition Standards
  • All work fully guaranteed
  • All electrical engineers have a background in mechanical engineering

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • No out-of-hours or emergency call services

Unique to Aberdeen Electricians is they specialise in EV chargers for homes and workplaces, which is definitely handy if you own an electric vehicle.

On top of that, their electrical engineers have a background in mechanical engineering. They’re also fully equipped and qualified to perform a full range of domestic and commercial electrical services.

These include rewiring, fuse board replacements, smoke alarms, EICR repairs, and PAT testing, to name a few. It’s also great that all of their work comes with a full guarantee, so customers have a level of protection.

It’s also reassuring that they’re NICEIC-approved contractors and qualified for the latest 18th Edition Standards, meaning their work practices are up to current regulations and standards. This also assures clients that subpar work will be corrected per the scheme.

Aside from free no-obligation quotes, clients can also ask for advice and estimates on bespoke pieces of work.

However, we do find them a tad lacking when it comes to accessibility since they’re closed on the weekends and don’t offer out-of-hours or emergency services.

Nevertheless, we heard from past clients that they do their best to squeeze in each client if possible. We like that they also have good communication skills, keeping their clients well-informed throughout the process.

Pros

  • Free no-obligation quotes
  • Open 24/7
  • Can do commercial, domestic, and industrial electric work
  • Contractors are qualified for the latest 18th Edition Standards
  • Fully insured

Cons

  • Quite a young company
  • Website lacks relevant information

To be completely honest, we were a bit hesitant about CDM Electrical given that they’re still a relatively young company. So, we think they still need a few years to gain more experience.

Nevertheless, many positive reviews from their past clients and a stellar track record have shown us they deserve a spot on this list.

They provide a wide selection of commercial, domestic, and industrial electric work, from fault finding to new builds.

In particular, they’re qualified to work on fuse board upgrades, solar PV installations and maintenance, heating and boilers, PAT testing, and rewiring, among others.

On top of that, their contractors are fully insured and qualified for the latest 18th Edition Standards. In our opinion, this boosts our confidence in their skills and knowledge.

This is why we think they’re a great overall electrician for virtually any property. It’s also no surprise that they have a wide clientele of business owners and residents.

It’s also a plus that they give out free no-obligation quotes and are open 24/7 as they can easily attend to any call-out request, whether early in the morning or late at night.

Their website appears to lack important information that we think could benefit interested clients. Even so, they seem to be doing well through word-of-mouth.
