  • Has a full kitchen with complimentary drinks
  • Pet-friendly

  • Offers hotdesking

Cons

  • Closes early for non-members

Established in 2007, The Melting Pot offers flexible coworking membership subscriptions that come with a ton of perks.

We appreciate that it offers a variety of membership packages starting at £12.50 to £300 monthly. We find that this takes affordability into account since there’s a package for virtually any budget based on your needs.

That said, its coworking spaces boast private nooks, meeting rooms, and breakout spaces for you to do your work. You can even opt for standing desks, which definitely deserves a brownie point for ergonomics’ sake.

To boot, it has a full kitchen where you can enjoy unlimited complimentary drinks. It also has reliable Wi-Fi, so you won’t have to stress about lag or disconnecting from a call either.

Apart from that, it has other office-related amenities as well. This includes a printer, scanner, photocopy machine, and the like.

It also has a number of add-ons that you can include in your membership plans, such as 24-hour access, storage options, a phone line, and more. We appreciate how customizable each plan is.

Membership also includes opportunities to join its networking events. We definitely recommend doing so to expand your circle and connect with peers.

But if monthly commitments aren’t your thing, this coworking space also offers hotdesking options starting at £10 for 2 hours. You can book hotdesks daily if you plan on staying the entire day.

However, keep in mind that it closes quite early for non-members. So, if you’re looking for a productive space to work at night, you may want to consider signing up to be a member.

Oh, did we mention that it’s pet-friendly, too? This is great if you want your little furry friend to tag along while you finish some work.

Pros

  • 24/7 access regardless of membership status
  • Has a kitchenette with complimentary drinks and snacks
  • Offers free tour
  • Centric location

Cons

  • Only has 6 desks
  • Limited privacy

The Nexus Room is a quaint yet luxurious coworking space made for individuals and small businesses. That said, it only has 6 desks available, which may be a cause for concern as these spaces may be occupied quite often, especially during peak hours.

Nevertheless, we like that it’s open 24-hours regardless of membership status. So, whether you opt for the monthly or weekly membership plan, you still have 24-hour access to your own dedicated desk.

Apart from that, you also get to enjoy unlimited coffee and tea as well as some cereals and snacks at its kitchenette. It also has a number of office-related amenities to make your stay as convenient as possible.

If you’re curious to see what the space looks like, you can request a free tour via its website. We definitely suggest doing this as it’ll give you a chance to see what’s in store for you.

It’s also great that it hosts a number of networking events, seminars, and workshops. This way, you have the opportunity to socialize with individuals from various industries.

Apart from that, it has pretty fast broadband which will definitely come in handy when you’re on an important call or looking to get some uninterrupted work done.

Speaking of interruptions, it’s important to note that The Nexus Room has an open-spaced layout, so there isn’t much privacy here.

Pros

  • 24/7 access regardless of membership status
  • Has a kitchenette and in-house cafe
  • Centric location
  • Has on-site parking and bike storage

Cons

  • No complimentary drinks or snacks

What we liked the most about Clockwise is that members get 24/7 access to the coworking space regardless of the type of membership subscription.

We also appreciate the variety of coworking spaces that it offers. It has breakout areas, club lounges, event spaces, and meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 15 people.

Apart from that, it has stellar amenities, too. These include a shower, kitchenette, and an in-house cafe called Two Hands Café that serves a variety of hot and cold food and drinks.

We found it great that it has a dedicated office support team, reception, maintenance and security, and cleaning crew. We find that this shows that the coworking spaces are well cared for and maintained.

Did we mention that it has on-site parking and bike storage? This way, you won’t have to stress about looking for a place to park your vehicle since the lot can accommodate up to 40 cars.

As for its membership packages, it has daily and monthly subscriptions. We appreciate the variety as you can decide on the most budget-friendly option depending on the frequency of your visits and your needs.

If you’re not looking into committing to a subscription just yet, it offers day passes where you can book a hotdesk for the day. Apart from that, it also has hourly bookings for its 6 to 16-seater meeting rooms.

This way, you can avail of only the services that you plan to consume.

We’re just sad that it doesn’t offer complimentary drinks, unlike other coworking spaces that have water or iced tea bars guests can enjoy.

Pros

  • 24/7 access regardless of membership status
  • Has an online booking system for meeting rooms
  • Has a kitchenette and complimentary drinks
  • Has an outdoor terrace

Cons

  • Only has 8 desks
  • Only 1 membership plan

Evergreen Coworking Studio is a quaint coworking space located at the historic town of Tweeddale Court (EH1). Even so, it’s situated at a centric location near many bus routes and a close walk to the Waverley Station.

However, we were a bit concerned about the fact that it only has 8 desks. So, it may be difficult to get a space during peak hours.

Nevertheless, it offers free access to its meeting rooms via its online booking system. We find that this organized system is a convenient way for customers to book 24/7.

It also has a kitchenette with a microwave, kettle, fridge, and even a French cafe. Did we mention that coffee, tea, and milk are complimentary, too?

As for traditional office amenities, it has a printer, scanner as well as drawer and shelf space. That said, you can even register your business at the coworking space.

We find this a great convenience for online or small businesses who need a company address.

If you want some fresh air, it also boasts a lovely outdoor terrace which is perfect for the summertime or for when you want to take a break away from your desk.

Unfortunately, it only has one kind of membership plan available. So, regardless of your consumption, you’re going to be paying a fixed amount monthly.

Pros

  • Offers add-ons
  • Has a kitchenette and complimentary drinks
  • Has an on-site management team
  • Has on-site parking
  • Offers hotdesking
  • Wide variety of public and private spaces

Cons

  • Closed on weekends for non-members
  • Closes early for non-members

Having been in the coworking space industry for the last 10 years, Strathmore has been a local favorite. It offers 3 kinds of membership packages starting at £125/monthly for weekday access and up to £285/monthly for 24/7 access.

It’s great that there are add-ons that you can include in your monthly subscription. You can opt to add outgoing postage and meeting room subscriptions, among others.

It also has a printing facility on-site that’s free of charge. Apart from that, it has a quaint kitchenette that’s stocked with coffee and tea for when you’re in need of refreshments or an extra energy boost.

As for the desks, it has hotdesking and dedicated workstations depending on your membership subscription. So, you can opt for either a semi-permanent workstation or come and go as you please.

On top of that, there are lockers and desk pedestals where you can store your belongings. This way, you won’t have to worry about losing any of your items.

Did we mention that there are phone booths? We think that’ll come in handy whenever you’re on an important call or would just like some additional privacy.

We also like that there’s an on-site team that’s available throughout the day to address any concerns that you may have. This definitely gets it brownie points for good management.

Unfortunately, non-members can’t enjoy the same perks that members can. They can only stay for a limited time on weekdays and are not accommodated at all on weekends.
