Pros
- Can treat a broad range of injuries using hands-on techniques
- Prioritises spending more time with patients
Cons
- Clinic located on the second floor with no lift
- Not the best choice for patients who want little downtime between sessions
The Glasgow City Physiotherapy or the GCP is a highly-rated, well-stationed institution. It’s based in Buchanan Street, so visitors will appreciate its close proximity to the Glasgow Queen Street Station, Central Station, and Buchanan Bus Station.
With an average of A for its ratings, Glasgow City Physiotherapy seems to be exceptional in delivering its promise to find and treat the cause of injuries, as well as provide prevention and management advice to patients.
The clinic is able to accommodate a wide range of injuries related to sports, back/neck pain, headaches, muscle sprains, work-related strains, surgery rehabilitation, osteoarthritis, as well as musculoskeletal disorders.
They do so by using services such as physiotherapy, sports massage, acupuncture, rehabilitation, and other methods listed on their website.
We find that they get their high ratings by prioritising spending more time with patients and using hands-on techniques. This way, patients feel more at home and do better during their sessions.
A con we’d like to mention, however, is that their clinic is on the second floor of a building with no lift, which makes it less accessible to those with injuries or disabilities.
Moreover, it’s clinic policy to space out sessions in between 2-3 weeks’ time at the minimum, so this might not be the best choice for patients who want more frequent meetings.
Nonetheless, Glasgow City Physiotherapy has proven that healing can definitely be acquired through patience and consistency. This clinic is especially suitable for those who are unsure of what type of injury they’re dealing with.

Pros
- Personalised rehabilitation plans provided
- Full rehab library available on Youtube
Cons
- Smaller clinic run by a team of three
- Treatment range not that extensive
The Physio Clinic Glasgow is a modern medical centre that focuses on evidence-based treatment and addressing the broader issues and not just symptoms. Their clinicians are all HCPC & CSP registered, which means patients are in good hands.
Although they are a smaller clinic run by a team of three, they quickly grew in popularity around the area, also becoming one of the most highly-rated clinics on both Google Reviews and Fresha.
After a thorough initial assessment, your physiotherapist will guide you through a personalised rehabilitation plan to ensure that it meets your needs and fits your schedule. This is then emailed to you complete with a video demonstration and guide.
We also like how they have a full rehab library available on their YouTube channel, as this is can be a big help to patients who want more guidance when they’re doing their rehab exercises at home.
They also have a telehealth assessment service, which is a feature we haven’t seen on other entries on this list. Patients who can’t make it to their Glasgow clinic can instead opt for remote pain management and rehabilitation.
However, they don’t have many treatments available aside from sports massages, physiotherapy assessments, and physiotherapy reviews. This is because the clinic caters mostly to sports and workout-related injuries.
Of course, those with issues and injuries relating to the aforementioned fields will find that their needs will be taken care of at the Physio Clinic Glasgow. It’s also one of the more modern and virtually accessible options, which is certainly a plus.

Pros
- Offers ante/post-natal care and women’s health physiotherapy
- Offers Swiss Dolorclast Shockwave treatment
- Has two locations in Glasgow
Cons
- Specialised womens’ courses and clinical pilates can be pricey
- Clinic is closed on Sundays
Physio Effect has two locations – their Northside Clinic and Studio situated north of the M8, and the Southside Treatment Room situated south of the River Clyde. This makes them one of the most expansive physiotherapy clinics in Glasgow.
For over ten years, Physio Effect has worked with new evidence-based approaches and developments to managing injuries. They can treat any pains or injuries, and have a special interest and experience in running, martial arts, and ante/post-natal care.
The Glasgow Running Clinic, which is the runners’ arm of Physio Effect, focuses on helping athletes prepare for marathons and long hauls. They also offer sports and remedial massage to keep their patients in peak condition.
Meanwhile, their pre-natal and post-natal services are part of their women’s health physiotherapy. We appreciate how they emphasize the importance of addressing pelvic floor issues such as incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain.
The clinic also offers Swiss Dolorclast Shockwave treatment, as well as clinical pilates that has been modified and given on a prescriptive basis. These sessions can be held one-on-one or small class basis, which we think is quite unique to Physio Effect.
Although their physio appointments match the average prices around Glasgow. Their specialised courses such as the ante/post-natal and clinical pilates sessions, unfortunately, are on the more expensive price side.
Their clinic is also the only one closed on Sundays, which can be a con for those who are busy during weekdays and Saturdays. Still, Physio Effect is very much one of the best physiotherapy centres in Glasgow, one that’s especially welcoming to women.

Pros
- Broad range of treatments and services
- Offers unique treatments like cupping therapy and acupuncture
- Offers pitch side physiotherapy cover for sports teams
Cons
- No specialisation or focused field of treatment
- Not enough information online on their specialists
The Physio Company Glasgow and their therapists boast years of experience and diverse training backgrounds, which allows them to customise treatment plans for their patients and achieve optimal results.
Located at 204 Bath Street in the heart of Glasgow, this clinic treats everything from post-surgical conditions, sports injuries, neurological issues, work-related pain, and acute and chronic injuries.
They are also involved in the treatment of work-related or joint issues such as neck and shoulder tension, frozen shoulder, back pain, hypermobility, and the like. In fact, most of their patients come to them to ask help for help with posture and alignment issues.
Moreover, The Physio Company offers a variety of sport-related services and rehabilitation. They can even have pitch-side physiotherapy cover for a sports team, which can be arranged by contacting the clinic.
Cupping therapy and dry needling/acupuncture treatments are available at this clinic, which isn’t as common as other physiotherapy treatments. They also offer home visits to those with medical and physical barriers preventing them from coming to the clinic.
That said, The Physio Company offers one of the broadest ranges of treatments. Still, they don’t exactly focus or hone into a specific field of treatment, like a jack-of-all-trades clinic – they do, however, offer unique services.
Moreover, we wish more information regarding their therapists and staff are made available online to help patients assess whether or not this is the right clinic for them. Thankfully, their list of services is pretty complete on their website.

Pros
- Three clinics spread out around Glasgow
- Features several state-of-the-art rehabilitation centres
- Connections with top health facilities
Cons
- Mostly tackles issues related to sports injuries
- Expensive treatment rates
Lastly, we have the Hampden Sports Clinic, the country’s leading sports injury and rehabilitation centre. While the clinic often treats elite athletes and issues related to sports injuries, they also work with people of all backgrounds with everyday problems.
The Hampden Sports Clinic boasts connections with Strathclyde, Glasgow Caledonian, and Glasgow University, which ensures that they are constantly developing treatment strategies and utilising up-to-date research, which is definitely one of their best assets.
They have three clinics in Glasgow: the main Hampden Sports Clinic, Glasgow University Clinic, and the University of Strathclyde Clinic. Their facilities are also some of the biggest and most advanced we have seen.
Aside from having several rehabilitation suites, they also have a Hydrotherapy Pool used to complement other methods of treatment and exercise-based therapy. These facilities are free to use if you sign up to be a patient of the clinic.
As for their services, the Hampden Sports Clinic offers general physiotherapy, sports massage and first aid, podiatry and biomechanics, MSK ultrasound, as well as physiotherapy for women.
They are quite similar to The Physio Company in the sense that they don’t have a particular field of focus, but they are most often approached for sports-related issues. We also find that they have quite expensive treatment rates.
Of course, this can be attributed to the fact that they grant you access to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. We especially recommend the Hampden Sports Clinic to athletes looking for the most advanced treatment methods.
