Pros
- Weekend, daytime, and evening appointments available
- All-in-one practice for evidence-based treatments and advice
- Registered with major health insurance companies
- Provides home consultations and work or station assessments
Cons
- Edinburgh clinic is a tad more expensive than their other clinics
What we love most about this award-winning clinic is that they’re an all-in-one practice for anything physiotherapy-related.
From sports injuries to post-op rehabilitation, The Physiotherapy Clinics has a wealth of experience providing evidence-based treatments and advice. Hence, we think they’re a great option for patients in all stages of recovery.
It’s great that clients can schedule sessions any day of the week from 8 AM to 8 PM. This way, clients can book at their earliest convenience and as frequently as necessary.
Did we mention that they can also do home consultations and work or station assessments? We were impressed that they offer comprehensive 45-minute sessions with detailed reports and recommendations.
In our opinion, we see that their physiotherapists have a deep connection to fulfill their duty, even outside of their clinic. Do note that this will set you back £85 for a home consultation and £110 for a work or station assessment.
Meanwhile, their in-clinic physiotherapy sessions start from £58 for an initial 45-minute consultation and from £53 for 30-minute return visits. It’s worth noting that they’re covered by all major insurance companies, too.
However, we were surprised to find that the fees at their Edinburgh clinic are a tad more expensive than their Peebles clinic.

Pros
- Free 15-minute telephone consultation
- Employs an individual-centric approach to treatments
- Registered with major health insurance companies and will bill directly to patient’s insurer
- Street parking available
- Fees readily available
Cons
- Inconsistent business hours
What we love about The Physiotherapy Place is that their approach to recovery is by curating treatments based on the individual, not just the diagnosis. To us, this shows that they don’t blindly follow the book but actively listen to the needs of their patients.
These treatments include manual therapy and manipulation, sports massages and therapy, mechanical traction, taping, and bracing.
It’s impressive that their team of physiotherapists has extensive qualifications and experience in treating a variety of sports and musculoskeletal conditions.
They’re also members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Health and Care Professionals Council. To us, it’s a great sign they strive to improve their professional development.
If interested patients still have a bout of the jitters, they can arrange a free 15-minute phone consultation. We appreciate that they’d take the time to reassure patients and answer any lingering questions.
We like that their fees are readily available on their website. They’re also quite affordable at £59 for the first appointment and only £49 for succeeding follow-up appointments.
Health insurance holders will be pleased to find that they’re registered with all major insurers. These include Nuffield Health, Bupa, AXA, Aviva, and Cigna.
To boot, they’ll also be able to bill directly to your insurer on your behalf. So, that’s one less thing to worry about.
As for accessibility, they’re open 6 days a week, though the irregular business hours may be confusing. On the bright side, patients don’t have to worry about parking as there’s street parking available.

Pros
- Physiotherapists have an average of 20 years of experience
- Registered with major health insurance companies and will bill directly to patient’s insurer
- Fees readily available
- Has 4 clinics across Edinburgh
Cons
- Often fully booked
Physis Physiotherapy houses a highly skilled team with an average of 20 years of industry experience. We appreciate the range of physiotherapy treatments they offer, from traditional rehabilitation to ViMove technology.
Aside from giving patients an array of treatment options, we think the diversity also gives them the ability to help patients with varying degrees of mobility and injury concerns.
As for their prices, we think they’re quite competitively priced. Unique to them is that they offer a rate for virtual and physical sessions.
Hence, clients can opt for whichever is most convenient and affordable. An initial consultation costs £38 (virtual) and £65 (physical), while their follow-up appointments cost £38 (virtual) and £50 (physical) for each session.
Another pro is that they’re registered with all major health insurance companies such as Vitality Health, Simply Health, Nuffield, Allianz, and Standard Life. To boot, they will bill directly to the patient’s insurer.
Accessibility also won’t be an issue since they have 4 clinics across Edinburgh, so clients can visit whichever is nearest to them.
Unfortunately, they’re often fully-booked, which is not just an inconvenience to many of their patients but also affects their recovery progress.
We hope their management team figures out a way to ensure that all patients are seen regularly without sacrificing the quality of their treatment.

Pros

- Excellent customer services
Cons
- Operating hours unavailable
Kinetic Physio aims to provide professional, evidence led physiotherapy in a relaxed and friendly environment and we think they’re able to do so. Hence why we’ve added them as one of our favourites!
Aside from physiotherapy, they have services like massage, pilates, golf, and running.
What we find nice about their clinic is how they keep up to date with the latest research and evidence about physiotherapy and integrate that to their service.
Besides keeping abreast of the latest in the field, they have excellent and experienced staff who even have post-graduate training. This is why we trust that the care they give is great.
The fact that they’ve had to expand is a testament to their impeccable service. These guys do a brilliant job with easing pain and know how to get their patients back to how they used to be.

Pros
- 10+ years of industry experience
- Registered with major health insurance companies
- Fees readily available
- Specialises in sports injuries and rehabilitation
- All physiotherapists are HCPC- and CSP-registered
Cons
- Only open from Wednesdays to Fridays
You may want to check out ESP Physiotherapy if you’re an athlete since they specialise in sports injuries and rehabilitation. It’s also worth noting that they’re the official physiotherapists of several national sports teams such as Stirling County Rugby Club Super 6 and Wolves Teams.
As one of the most prominent physiotherapy clinics in the country, ESP Physiotherapy specialises in all types of musculoskeletal injuries, from diagnosis to treatment.
We think it helps establish confidence that their physiotherapists are HCPC- and CSP-registered.
With over 10 years of industry experience, it’s no surprise that they’re a fan favourite of many professional athletes.
Their treatment variety is also worth talking about as they employ traditional and modern techniques. Aside from that, they also have many exercise therapy options for when clients are feeling better.
Price-wise, we find their rates competitively priced at £58 for an initial consultation and £48 for a return visit. They’re also registered with several major health insurers, so the overall cost may vary depending on the extent of the coverage.
However, their biggest flaw is that they’re only open from Wednesdays to Fridays. We think this could pose many accessibility issues for clients, especially those needing immediate attention.

Pros
- Open daily
- Fees readily available
- Specialises in sports injuries and rehabilitation
- Offers worldwide online consultations
- Has 3 offices in Edinburgh
Cons
- Only accepts insurance from receipt-based schemes
Established in 2014, Sports Therapy provides a comprehensive selection of physiotherapy treatments and plans for a range of musculoskeletal pain and injuries.
Whether patients seek maintenance or recovery, their physiotherapists provide a hands-on approach to treatments and evidence-based rehabilitation to achieve progressive results.
It’s also worth highlighting that many of their physiotherapists are athletes themselves. Hence, we think this connection makes them quite popular among athlete patients.
Unique to this clinic is that it’s open daily. This added convenience allows patients to visit as frequently as necessary and reduces the likelihood of fully-booked schedules.
To boot, they also have 3 offices across Edinburgh – Tollcros, West End, and Leith. This way, clients can opt to visit whichever is nearest to them.
We like that clients also have the option to consult online in the comforts of their homes worldwide. A 30-minute consultation is set at £30.
Meanwhile, their physiotherapy services cost £60 for a 60-minute session and £50 for a 45-minute session. In our opinion, these rates are quite reasonable.
However, we were saddened to find that they don’t accept insurance from private health insurance patients. On the bright side, they accept patients with Medicash, Healthshield, and similar receipt-based schemes.

Other than physiotherapy, they offer an extensive programme of Physio-led Pilates, Yoga and Fitness classes.
We like that they have pilates classes to compliment their physiotherapy services.
We think they’re one of the clinics that offer very excellent clinical care because of their expert chartered physiotherapists.
Each one of them have expertise in their areas of specialist, and their entire staff has a more than a hundred years of physiotherapy experience between them.

He specialises in Musculoskeletal, Orthopaedics and Sports Injuries, so we think that anyone with concerns in these areas will highly benefit from his services.
To add, he spent extra years further specialising in ailments involving Knee Physiotherapy, Foot and Ankle Physiotherapy, and the Shoulder.
With all these information, we can all deduce that he’s highly knowledgeable.
Proof of this is through the excellence of his services. For many of his patients, he was the one who has helped alleviate or treat pains they’ve experienced for a while.
We find him very trustworthy and reliable when it comes to progressing with his rehabilitation approach.
