The 5 Best Pet Grooming Services in Scotland for Pawsitively Clean Paws

Range of Services: We checked if these businesses provide more than just a basic trim. Having a variety of options, like teeth cleaning or hydro baths, can help busy pet parents.

Staff Qualifications: Finding a team with proper training in first aid and animal behaviour was a top priority. Knowing that qualified professionals are handling your pets gives you serious peace of mind during their appointment.

Handling of Anxious Pets: We specifically looked for groomers who know how to calm down nervous or reactive dogs. A low-stress environment is important, especially if you have a rescue dog or a young pup getting their first cut.

Pricing and Flexibility: We considered how clear their pricing structure is and whether they offer convenient scheduling. Being able to easily book or drop off your pet without jumping through hoops was a big deciding factor.

Keeping your furry friend looking and feeling fresh is an important part of being a pet owner. Sure, you can do it yourself and purchase supplies at pet shops, but the task is easier said than done.

Finding the best pet grooming services in Scotland isn’t exactly the easiest thing to do, especially with so many options. You need someone who knows how to handle a nervous pup or give a proper breed standard cut.

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! We’re sharing our top picks, which we’ve chosen based on their genuine love for animals and knowledge of different breeds and their needs!

Absolute Dogs is one of our picks for offering behavioural rehabilitation and grooming services, acting as a one-stop destination.

They also welcome dogs of all breeds and temperaments. This is particularly fantastic for owners with big breeds who’ve been turned away elsewhere.

A lifesaver for my mud-loving, reactive malamute!

Took my stinky dog-reactice malamute here today as she was LONG overdue a good clean.  Used the do it yourself dog wash station. Very reasonably priced at £12. Towel and shampoo is provided. The place is very friendly and welcoming, really really appreciated the help they gave in regards to her reactivity and unwillingness to get into the tub. Really can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be back with my mud loving beast .

Such an easy and relaxed self-service wash

Such an easy, relaxed experience for our dog at the self-service wash yesterday. We were welcomed in and shown how everything works.  We had taken our own towels and shampoo, but they are supplied in your ‘station’ along with brushes. Thank you!

Their team has received canine first aid training. Plus, their gentle handling really helps create a stress-free visit for dogs who might easily get spooked by the noise.

The best communication for an anxious owner

Julia was so kind with our wee pup. She took time to understand us and get to know us both. She was really professional and her communication throughout was the best I’ve ever had with a groomer which is wonderful as an anxious owner. 10/10 would recommend ❤️

Amazing setup with awesome sms photo updates!

Took my dog there after our regular groomer cancelled. Bourbon looked loved it and looked fantastic! Julia was lovely, and the premises were amazing. Was kept updated by SMS throughout, and even got pics. Will be back in 8 weeks for next groom!

5. Edinburgh Dog Groomers

edinburgh-dog-groomers

Website:http://www.edinburghdoggroomers.co.uk/

Address: 11-13 Restalrig Road, Edinburgh

Contact: 07554 558444

Hours: Monday – Saturday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

We like how Edinburgh Dog Groomers operates as a collective of independent professionals where you contact your groomer directly. This setup gives you the flexibility to choose exactly who handles your dog, keeping their comfort top priority.

They even actively provide direct phone numbers and Instagram profiles for each team member, so checking out their previous work is super easy.

When our colleague used their service for her golden retriever, she noted that the groomer made sure that every dog leaves looking sharp and feeling great.

But because they work independently, there’s no central booking system, which means you must reach out to them individually to secure a spot.

Pros

  • Direct communication with preferred groomers
  • Independent professionals prioritising comfort
  • Late appointments posted on social media
  • Easy access to groomers’ portfolios

Cons

  • No central booking system available

Skilled, patient hand stripping at a reasonable price

Jess (18 months jrt) just had her first hand stripping session with Bronte. Would highly recommend Bronte for her skill and patience with Jess. Fantastic job of her coat and very reasonable price for service.

A perfect puppy intro (Plus easy parking!)

Took my Harry for his first  visit for the puppy introduction to the place and when he came back he had two eyes again. We have booked him in for his next appointment for the full works so I will update. Nice little set up and very nice people in there. I went to the leigh shop. Easy to find and no problem for drop off and parking as you know what edinburgh can be like. Looking forward to his next visit. Two happy customers. 😊
