Top 10 Party Venues in Scotland for Every Budget and Every Guest List

Sometimes, brainstorming locations doesn’t actually land you a venue—it just sparks heated conversations that are one snap away from people shouting in each other’s faces.

Maybe it’s not that serious, but in a way, it is. After all, you’re juggling money, logistics, amenities, accommodations, seating, and more.

So, to keep the peace, we did the legwork and pulled together the best party venues in Scotland—for different budgets, events, and capacities. Read on to find your event’s best fit!

The Caves isn’t really a cave—we don’t want you to be surprised once you get there! It’s a restored 18th-century vault system beneath Edinburgh’s South Bridge, which helps it look like a cave. It feels like one, too!

This venue can accommodate various events, from intimate weddings to large parties and corporate functions. Its capacity and layout are surprisingly larger than what we’d expect, given its enclosed nature.

Depending on the event, it can host between 65 and 400 guests, and seated dinners typically range from 60 to 250 guests, while evening receptions can accommodate up to 400.

It’s also convenient that the venue provides in-house catering services, providing a selection of menu options. There are two bar areas available as well, making sure guests are well-served throughout the event. All in all, the type of exclusivity it brings is great if you want privacy.

Pro tip:
While the venue is largely accessible, there’s a small lip at the door, and the bar area has two steps. So, guests or clients with mobility concerns should inform the staff in advance to arrange suitable accommodation and solutions.

Carlowrie Castle offers private use of its entire 32-acre estate, giving guests exclusivity without feeling cramped or crowded. The best part is that the castle features 21 bedrooms, including a honeymoon suite accommodating up to 42 guests, especially if you want overnight stays.

As for the rest of the venue, it can easily accommodate up to 275 guests for dining and 450 for evening receptions. Some of the options they have also include the elegant Orangery, a bespoke marquee with a marble-topped bar and crystal chandelier, and expensive outdoor spaces.

This place is big on weddings, especially since they offer packages to suit individual preferences. On top of that, winter weddings between November and March come with special offerings, which provide a unique and cost-effective option for couples.

Pro tip:
To guarantee availability, especially during peak seasons, consider booking the venue well in advance—and we mean months and months ahead. Also, engaging with their event coordinators early can help tailor the experience to your needs better.

Venachar Lochside Luxury Scottish Wedding Venue, Callander

Operating hours: Thursday to Tuesday: 10 AM – 6 PM

Pricing: £££

Right on the banks of Loch Venachar in the Trossachs sits Venachar Lochside, with every major room giving its guests sweeping views of the water and surrounding hills. And thanks to the combo of loch, forested hills, and natural light, it makes photos extra special.

What we like most about this place is that when you hire them, the venue is yours alone, with indoor and outdoor spaces fully dedicated to your event. This means there’s more flexibility in the schedule, and it can accommodate up to 100 guests for dining or reception use.

It’s also neat how you can add extras like upgraded food/drink (wine upgrades, cocktails), special menu items, and alternative decor (greenery, lighting). Not to mention, you can also opt for experiences like paddleboarding or wild swimming if you want something beyond the basics.

Pro tip:
Note that the venue itself has a lochside cottage for the couple’s first night, but most guests need to stay nearby—Callender and lodges around the area provide options. There might be minimum numbers or additional hire fees for smaller events.

The Byre at Inchyra, Perth

Address: Glencarse, Perth

Contact details: +44 1738 860066

Operating hours: By appointment

Pricing: ££

Website

The Byre at Inchyra is a restored barn situated in 150 acres of private parkland. It was originally built in 1877, so it has a lot of character—think original stone walls, timbered roofs, and exposed beams. It has the convenience of modern touches like sound systems, lighting, staging, and more, though.

We also love their inclusions when you book the place—they cover essentials like furniture (tables, chairs), a cake stand, a fully fitted catering kitchen, heating, luxury loos, event lighting, microphones for speeches, a bar facility, a stage for live bands, and even a vintage disco ball.

Now, if you want an outdoor ceremony, there are beautiful spots, such as the Walled Garden with its romantic apple-tree aisle, a wooden pavilion, and the front lawn of Inchyra House. And if rain or weather is an issue, indoor back-ups include the Lower Byre or the Stable Room.

Pro tip:
Since on-site lodging is limited to 22 people, plan which guests use it (bridal party, close family). And for larger guest groups who want overnight stays, it’s best to block out nearby hotels early.

Silverwood Resort, Holiday lodges & Events barn, Perth

Address: Silverwood Lodges, Inchcoonans, Perth

Contact details: +44 1821 642284

Operating hours: Monday to Sunday: 9 AM – 6 PM

Pricing: ££

Website

Silverwood Resort has various private event spaces, including a 200-seat wedding barn that has been recently built, offering a large, rustic indoor setting ideal for sit-down meals. What’s even better is that it includes a smaller rustic barn and an outdoor pavilion, so you can mix indoor and outdoor settings.

For those who have guests planning to stay overnight, the resort has over 19 self-catering lodges on-site that sleep about 94 people! Each lodge is well-finished, with some featuring hot tubs and private decks.

The bonus? Hosting a party here means that you’ll have exclusive use of Silverwood Resort. You and your guests will have 20 acres all to yourselves—the Catse of Gowrie, countryside views, your own lochan (small lake), water-edge ceremony option, lawns, and other private grounds!

Pro tip:
Because the barn holds up to 200 guests, large weddings are possible, but in high season (spring-summer), weekends fill up fast. Booking at least 12-18 months ahead is a smart move. Also, off-peak dates can get you better and more flexible rates.

Airth Venue, Falkirk

Operating hours:

  • Friday: 3 PM – 11 PM
  • Saturday: 12 PM – 1 AM
  • Sunday: 12 PM – 7 PM

Pricing: £

Website

Now, if you want a more light-hearted and fun venue, then Airth Venue is a solid bet, especially for birthdays, corporate parties, family events, karaoke/band nights, and more. And it’s one of the more budget-friendly options on this list.

You can book a Main Function Room that can be arranged for multiple formats, like dining, dancing, receptions, meetings, etc. You can also expect a stage with an LED backdrop, full sound and lighting systems, which makes it excellent for live bands, DJs, or entertainment-led events.

The main function room can handle about 120 guests, but if you’re looking for something smaller, their Robert Lyon Suite is best for around 45 guests. This smaller place also has a lounge space/bar that’s often used for buffets or pre-event mingling.

Pro tip:
Consider visiting the venue in the evening before your party to check the lighting and sound. Seeing it in person will help you assess whether the stage, lighting, and acoustics match what you want.

Stucktaymore, Loch Tay

Address: Loch Tay, Stucktaymore, Killin

Contact details: +44 7766 885270

Operating hours: By appointment

Pricing: £££

Website

The thing about Stucktaymore is that it’s a grand country house overlooking Loch Tay, which is all exclusive to you and your guests. You’ll have full access to the entire house and grounds: its internal spaces, outdoor terraces, lawns, hot tubs, woodland areas, and more.

Just note that it’s an intimate setup, with 13 ensuite bedrooms, the house accommodates up to 29 people comfortably. This makes it ideal for weddings, milestone birthdays, or family gatherings where you want everyone to stay together in one place.

And there’s plenty of communal rooms here, such as a large dining room (for all 29 guests), lounge areas, library, media/entertainment room, games room, and a bar area. For its outdoor amenities, you’ll see a 7-seater hot tub, fire pits in the woodland, walkways, bridges, and more.

Pro tip:
It’s worth noting that since this is a rural venue, guests will need clear directions, understand where to park, and how remote the location is. For summer weddings, be ready to commit in advance (a year or more) and to budget for a higher cost.

The Corinthian Club, Glasgow

Media from thecorinthianglasgow

Address: 191 Ingram St, Glasgow

Contact details: +44 141 552 1101

Operating hours:

  • Wednesday to Thursday: 12 PM – 10 PM
  • Friday: 12 PM – 1 AM
  • Saturday: 12 PM – 3 AM
  • Sunday: 12 PM – 8 PM

Pricing: £££

Website

The versatility and variety that The Corinthian brings to the table are incredibly impressive. You can choose glamorous fine-dining settings (Teller’s Brasserie), late-night party spaces (The Club, Charlie Parker’s), casual rooftop terrace vibes (Fettercairn Terrace), and smaller rooms.

There are at least 14 different spaces across five floors to choose from. The Flying Scotsman suite, for example, can host about 110 dining guests and up to 250 standing receptions. Intimate rooms like Laird’s seat around 14, and around 50 for Langley.

What’s also nice is that it’s located in Merchant City, making it accessible for guests staying in the city, arriving by public transport, and it’s near other hotels and restaurants.

Pro tip:
Private rooms often include basic AV, WiFi, etc, but things like decorative lighting, additional decor, late-night licensing, overtime, specific furniture layouts, or dance floors may come at an extra cost.

The Haberdashery, Glasgow

Media from thehaberdasheryglasgow

Address: 545 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow

Contact details: +44 141 261 6332

Operating hours: Tuesday to Friday: 9 AM – 4 PM

Pricing: ££

Website

True to its name, The Haberdashery is housed in a former haberdashery or tailor’s business dating back to 1923. You’ll see features like exposed brick, marble pillars, and traditional cornicing.

We appreciate how flexible their spaces can be; they offer several open-plan areas—ground floor includes The Haberdasher Bar, The Gallery, and there’s even a basement function space.

Besides the frequent weddings, the space is also intended for corporate events, art exhibitions, pop-up uses, and other community functions.

Pro tip:
To avoid overspending, ask the venue for a list of recommended local suppliers who know the acoustics, access points, and layout well. They’ll save you both money and stress compared to bringing in unfamiliar teams.

Wedderlie House, Gordon

Media from wedderliehouse

Address: Wedderlie House, Gordon

Contact details: +44 7786 567750

Operating hours: 24/7

Pricing: £££

Website

It’s cool how Wedderlie House is tucked in a secluded private estate of about 50-60 acres in the Scottish Borders. You get full privacy: once you book it, the house, barns, marquees, grounds, and other facilities are yours to enjoy without clashing with other events.

As for their accommodations, there are around 24 bedrooms spread across the Mansion House, converted hayloft, and cabins, which allow up to 45 to 55 guests to stay on-site.

When it comes to seated dinners in the barns or the marquee, capacity is about 150 guests, and slightly more for standing or drinking receptions.

Pro tip:
Booking nearby properties, scheduling transport (shuttle/taxis) from nearest towns, and making sure guests know where to stay in advance will make things smoother.
