Established in 1946, Cram Osteopaths is a Glasgow-based osteopathy clinic registered with the General Osteopathic Council. This family-run osteopathic practice specialises in back, neck, shoulder, and hip pain.

We like that they offer a free telephone consultation session, which not all osteopathy clinics do. It’s good that they can already try to pinpoint your issue over the phone and walk you through the process if you decide to come in.

What sets this clinic apart is that they use state-of-the-art treatment technologies. For instance, they use Shockwave Therapy to treat a growing number of tendon, joint, and muscle conditions.

They also use Intervertebral Differential Dynamics (IDD) Therapy which is a non-surgical decompression treatment for the pain of herniated and slipped discs. For those who have pain in the spine or hip region, you may want to consider this!

We took a peek in their clinic, and we liked what we saw. Instead of looking cold and clinical, it had a homey vibe with its white and beige walls and wooden flooring – we think their surroundings will help nervous patients feel at ease.

Unfortunately, they are closed on Sundays, so do plan your visit accordingly.

After a little digging, we also found out that some customers felt rushed during their sessions, which is a shame. Hopefully, they can work on this little kink so that clients won’t feel shortchanged.

Drysdale Osteopathy is another go-to clinic for osteopathy services in Glasgow. It is owned by David Drysdale, who graduated from the British College of Osteopathy in 1992.

He worked as an osteopath  in New Zealand and North Yorkshire before establishing his business in 1996. It is currently registered with the General Osteopathic Council

Over the years, he managed to get certifications for various osteopathy therapies and techniques, which we think is quite impressive. Some of these are Acupuncture and Trigger Point Therapy, Cranio-Sacral Osteopathy, and Visceral Osteopathy.

The clinic boasts an 80% success rate, which we commend. Upon further research, it seems he’s known for resolving pain issues that other osteopaths failed to address, such as back, jaw, and neck pain.

He also has a competitively-priced initial osteopathy consultation. The fee is £70 – not too bad at all, as other clinics set the price at £80 or more.

However, some clinics do offer a free initial consultation, so do keep that in mind.

Also, we noticed that not only are they closed on Sundays and Mondays, they also have shorter hours on Wednesdays and Fridays. You might need to adjust your own schedule to accommodate theirs.

We also recommend that you book well in advance since we heard that this clinic is quite popular. You might not get a booking right away.

Essential Osteopathy is another clinic that is run by osteopath Fiona McIntosh. Not only did she graduate with distinction from the British School of Osteopathy (BSO), she also received a BSc (Hons) from St. Andrews University.

A unique service that she specialises in is cranial osteopathy for babies. To help ease the tensions on the bony and membranous structures of a baby’s skull, she uses gentle techniques – much to the parents’ peace of mind.

Aside from babies, she is also highly-experienced in relieving Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) or Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP) related to pregnancies. This is great news for pregnant mothers who are feeling discomfort in these areas.

For the athletes who were injured recently or are experiencing random pains, you’d be happy to know that she is an expert in handling sports injuries. Through her training, she can help restore structural balance and improve joint mobility.

Compared to other clinics, we appreciate her lower price points. For instance, her initial consultation only costs £65 and follow-ups cost £53 each session.

Since she does specialise in a few things, her range of services is comparatively limited. Her clinic is also closed three days a week (Fri-Sun), which is a shame since most patients prefer to be treated during the weekend.

Natural Health Service is another registered osteopathy picnic in Glasgow. For those with health insurance, you’d be happy to know that they accept AVIVA, AXA, BUPA, Simply Health, Standard Life, Vitality, and more.

One distinct service they offer which others do not is their emergency appointment system. For pain-related emergencies, you can easily book a session online or give them a ring, which is quite reassuring.

Also, they specialise in osteopathy for children and cranial osteopathy for newborns. They use a wide range of gentle hands-on techniques that focus on releasing tension, improving mobility, and optimising function.

We appreciate their very competitive rates: £55 for initial consultations and £55 for adult follow-ups and £45 for children. These rates are actually cheaper than those in other clinics.

They also offer concession rates for patients over 65, full-time students, and low income patients, which not all clinics offer. These discounts would really help these groups afford their services.

They also give special rates for special workers, which we commend. These include NHS workers, Emergency Services staff, council workers, civil servants, and employees of charities and voluntary organisations.

However, compared to other clinics, their selection of services is a bit more limited. For instance, they do not have Shockwave or IDD Therapy.

They are also closed on Sundays, which is a shame for those who are only available on weekends.

The Osteopaths is run by a team with 50 years of combined experience, making them one of the most credible osteopathy clinics in Glasgow.

One unique osteopathy therapy they offer is their Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT).  They use light to eliminate pain and promote healing for a variety of medical conditions such as plantar fasciitis, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, and more.

We are fans of their laid-back, yet elegant, clinic. Its simple white walls, soft grey carpeting, and touches of wood add warmth to the space.

However, we were just a bit disappointed to learn that only two of the staff members are trained osteopaths. The others are massage therapists, which might be a dealbreaker for clients with specific needs.
