Pros
- Has Diploma and Master’s qualifications in aesthetic dental implantology
- Fully qualified and trained to perform non-surgical facial cosmetic procedures
- Youngest dental practice inspector in Scotland for the NHS Forth Valley Health Board
- Free and virtual consultations offered
- Payment plans of up to 5 years offered
- Dental fees available on website
Cons
- Quite a young orthodontist
- Clinic fees are quite pricey
In complete honesty, we were taken aback by how young Michael Tang is, especially compared to his colleagues. However, we were quite impressed by his feats that we couldn’t deny him a spot on this list.
Unique to Tang is that he has a particular interest in aesthetic dental implantology. He completed an intensive implantology course at the Medical Faculty in Boston, USA, earning Tang both a Diploma and Master’s qualifications.
He’s also received lectures and mentoring from renowned international dentists in this field. As a result, he’s fully qualified and trained to perform non-surgical facial cosmetic procedures.
Hence, he’s received several referrals from other dentists for bone and soft tissue grafting as well as sinus lifting, to name a few, which we think is a strong statement to competitors.
Apart from practising, he’s also spent a few years mentoring inexperienced dentists. It’s worth noting that his clinic, Kalyani Dental Lounge, is an approved teaching clinic.
On top of that, Tang holds the title of the youngest dental practice inspector in Scotland for the NHS Forth Valley Health Board. We think this is a big plus given that, as a former inspector, he knows all the healthcare guidelines like the back of his hand.
It’s quite convenient that they offer virtual consultations, so you won’t have to leave the comforts of your home to speak with a certified dentist.
We highly suggest availing of their free consultation to discuss the details of your concern. If you’re a bit wary about your budget, especially since they’re quite pricey, it’s also worth highlighting that they offer payment plans for up to 5 years.
As for accessibility, it’s great that they’re open until 6 PM from Mondays to Thursdays. However, they close a tad earlier on Fridays, which we find a tad inconvenient, especially since most would prefer to get things done before the weekend.

Pros
- Has a Masters’s degree and Membership in Orthodontics
- Experienced in lingual (behind the teeth) braces
- Free and virtual consultations available
- Known to be a great listener and employs a collaborative approach to treatments
- Clinic provides children’s orthodontics
- Open 6 days a week
Cons
- Irregular business hours
- Pricing information not readily available
After graduating in 2002, Andrew McGregor worked at hospitals and family dental practices. Shortly after, he taught dentistry at the University of Sydney in Australia for a few years.
Since completing his orthodontic specialist training in 2010, McGregor attained his Masters’s degree and Membership in Orthodontics. He also has an established teaching career working as a consultant at Identiti Orthodontics.
On top of that, he’s a member of several societies such as the British Lingual Orthodontic Society and British Orthodontic Society.
We were also impressed by the fact that he’s one of the few Scottish orthodontists with technical expertise to perform lingual (behind the teeth) braces.
Hence, it’s no surprise that McGregor is incredibly sought after. It’s also great that he provides free and virtual consultations, which we highly encourage interested patients to avail themselves of.
In our experience, McGregor is a good listener, which comes in handy when properly diagnosing his patients. We also liked his collaborative approach to orthodontics since each treatment plan is specifically tailored to the patient’s needs.
What we liked most about his clinic is that they provide children’s orthodontics. They use modern 3D technology to monitor children’s dental development to make any necessary adjustments to their treatments, alleviating any risks for orthodontic issues come adulthood.
While it’s convenient that they’re open 6 days a week, we were a tad bothered by their irregular business hours. In our opinion, it’s quite confusing, so we suggest cross-checking before making an appointment.
We were also a bit disappointed that they don’t have their pricing information readily available, which is quite a hassle to have to phone in and request.

Pros
- Has a Master’s in Clinical Dentistry with Merit in Orthodontics
- Member of the International Team of Implantologists (ITI) and several distinguished dental societies
- Clinic is open 6 days a week and on selected bank holidays
- Dental fees are readily accessible on the clinic’s website
- Dental financing is available
Cons
- Few complaints about long waiting times
- Closes early on Saturdays
Originally from Canada, Fadi Al-Silwadi came to London to complete a 3-year Specialist Training in Orthodontics. In 2014, Al-Silwadi was bestowed a Master’s in Clinical Dentistry with Merit in Orthodontics by the University College London.
We found it impressive that he’s qualified to perform extensive dentistry and orthodontics work and is a member of the International Team of Implantologists (ITI).
Having said that, it’s worth highlighting that he’s experienced comprehensive training to perform dental implantology in orthodontic cases.
Beyond that, he’s also a member of several distinguished dental societies: Royal College Specialist Memberships in Orthodontics MOrthRCS (Edinburgh) and IMOrthRCS (England), among others.
We like the array of treatment options his clinic offers, as this gives patients a wide selection. They offer removable braces, metal braces, Invisalign, lingual braces, and more.
For NHS patients, it’s worth noting that you can receive treatments for free or at a reduced rate. To boot, they offer dental plans that can spread the payment cost at 0% interest for up to 24 months.
As for accessibility, his clinic is open 6 days a week but closes a tad earlier on Saturdays, which is honestly slightly inconvenient, especially since they’re only open until 6:30 PM on weekdays.
We’ve also encountered a few complaints about long queues at their clinic despite patients arriving on time for their appointments.
4. George Campbell – Infinity Smiles

Pros
- Received his MOrth in Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons
- Member of several esteemed organizations
- NHS provider
- Free and remote consultations available
- Provide orthodontic services for children, teens, and adults
- Financing options are available
Cons
- Booking system is sometimes unserviceable
- Minor concerns over snippy receptionist
After completing his study in Dentistry at Edinburgh University, George Campbell went on to man several duties in oral and maxillofacial surgery, completing his fellowship in the Royal College of Surgeons in Glasgow.
He then rendered 3 years as the Registrar in Orthodontics at Guy’s Hospital, where he teaches every few months.
Campbell received his MOrth in Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. He then briefly worked as a consultant in Orthodontics and afterwards opened his own practice, which has since expanded through acquiring four more practices.
Being a part of several esteemed organisations also made a great impression on us. Campbell is a member of the World Federation of Orthodontists, European Orthodontic Societies, and even the American Orthodontists Society, among others.
Campbell works as a specialist orthodontist at the multi-award-winning clinic, Infinity Smiles. Here, he provides orthodontic care for children, teens, and adults.
It’s great that they can begin seeing children as early as 4 to assess whether there are any signs of them developing orthodontic issues. It’s also worth noting that they have all the necessary equipment in their facility to accommodate children’s growing mouths and jaws.
For those on a budget, they offer several payment plans for patients. Since they’re an NHS provider, they also provide coverage for those eligible.
While it’s handy that their initial appointments are free, it’s quite troublesome that their booking system is sometimes unserviceable. This has resulted in a few mix-ups with appointment times and dates.
So, we suggest phoning in to make your appointments. Though, we must warn you that their receptionist can sometimes be a tad snippy.

Pros
- Completed his Postgraduate Dental Studies in Prosthetics, Anxiety and Periodontics at Bristol University
- Highly qualified to give his patients orthodontic and cosmetic advice on their treatment options
- Accredited practitioner for 6 Months Smiles cosmetic braces, Inman Aligner, and Secret Smile Lingual Braces
- Offer evening and Saturday bookings by appointment
- Offer a wide array of dental treatments for patients of all ages
Cons
- Irregular business hours
- Doesn’t offer free initial consultations
After completing Dundee Dental School in 2000, Allan Rennie became a member of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh a few years later.
In 2007, Rennie completed his Postgraduate Dental Studies in Prosthetics, Anxiety and Periodontics at Bristol University. On top of that, he completed a Scottish Dental Implant Year Course in straight wire orthodontics.
Hence, we think he’s highly qualified to give his patients orthodontic and cosmetic advice on various treatment options.
Having said that, it’s also worth highlighting that he’s an accredited practitioner for 6 Months Smiles cosmetic braces, Inman Aligner, and Secret Smile Lingual Braces. We think this helps set clients at ease, knowing that he’s received all the proper training.
We appreciate the wide selection of braces options that his clinic has. On top of that, the clinic also provides cosmetic dentistry and dental treatments, which make them a convenient one-stop clinic for patients of all ages and dental concerns.
As for accessibility, they’re open on weekdays but offer evening and Saturday sessions by appointment. However, we did find their irregular operating hours a tad confusing, so we suggest reviewing their schedule before making an appointment.
Unfortunately, they don’t offer free initial consultations. New patient consultations will set you back £49 right away.
On a brighter note, we appreciate that they have their pricing information readily accessible on their website. This way, interested patients can have a better idea of their costs.
For cost-conscious patients, it’s worth noting that they also offer a few financing options and payment plans worth checking out.
