Pros

  • Staff are knowledgable, helpful, and friendly to patients
  • Specialisation in laser hair removal and aesthetic procedures
  • Open from 9 AM–9 PM on weekdays

Cons

  • Small clinic
  • Faulty booking system
  • Refund process can take weeks to complete

Thérapie Clinic has been a top dermatology clinic not only in Edinburgh but also the rest of the UK and Ireland. With over 65 clinics and 20 years in the industry, it offers some of the best aesthetic procedures and leading technology.

They have over 200 expert doctors who have delivered over 10 million treatments in total. The Edinburgh staff in particular have been praised for being helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly, which gets them a lot of returning patients.

Thérapie Clinic specialises in laser hair removal, anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, lip injections, and body sculpting. Dermal specialists also offer skin treatments for acne scarring, rosacea, and pigmentation.

Although their clinic is small, it’s very well-maintained and equipped with the latest medical-grade lasers and skin-tightening technologies. They also have a display of their products, which is useful if you want to directly take some home after treatment.

We also appreciate that their clinic opens at 9 AM and closes at 9 PM on weekdays and that it’s in a very convenient location. This makes it accessible to those who are working until late hours.

That said, many clients have voiced their dissatisfaction with the clinic’s booking system, as their mailing and texting service is quite faulty, often cancelling at short notice. Moreover, refunds from cancelled appointments take weeks to complete.

As one of the most frequented dermatology clinics in Edinburgh, we hope they improve these aspects of their business. But overall, Thérapie Clinic is a reliable place to get your standard hair removal and aesthetic procedures done quickly.

Pros

  • Supported by award-winning aestheticians
  • Wide range of face, body, and hair treatments
  • Carries more advanced procedures and operations
  • Offers a one-of-a-kind botox migraine treatment and bruxism treatment

Cons

  • Skincare and aftercare products are not well-received
  • Staff hard sells products to patients
  • Pricier treatment rates

Dr. Victoria and her team of highly skilled dermatology practitioners provide aesthetic-focused procedures to patients, with the goal of helping them boost their self-confidence and satisfaction with their body.

The DRVICTORIA™ Clinic is regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland, and its medical practitioners are accredited by Save Face. Their medical team is supported by several award-winning aestheticians, so rest assured that you’re in safe hands.

DRVICTORIA™ Clinic carries many skin-related treatments such as facials, laser hair removal, injections & fillers, tear trough, microneedling, leg veins & sclerotherapy, excessive sweating treatments, and weight loss & body shaping.

They can also perform more advanced procedures like eyelid lifts, nose reshaping, face lifts, and the like. There are more procedures we haven’t listed down that are available on their website, which we also think is quite thorough and informative.

With a wide range of treatments for the face, body, and hair, there are a couple of rarer ones we haven’t seen in other clinics. For instance, they offer an NHS-approved botox migraine treatment and bruxism treatment.

Although the clinic is acclaimed for their effective laser treatments, we’ve discovered that their skincare and aftercare products are not as well-received. Moreover, even more standard treatments here are more expensive than in other clinics.

For standard facials and skin treatments, we recommend being open to other options. But if you’re intruiged by DRVICTORIA™ Clinic’s exclusive treatments and more advanced procedures, definitely prepare to splurge a little.

Pros

  • Winner of the 2021 Aesthetics Awards Best Clinic Scotland
  • Specialisation in treating skin conditions
  • Each team member is a specialist in their field

Cons

  • Lack of communication
  • Clients will mostly manage their own aftercare

The Dermal Clinic is the 2021 Aesthetics Awards Best Clinic Scotland winner, so it’s only fitting that we include them in our guide. It’s a contemporary clinic with spacious premises, and its service selection is one of the broadest we’ve seen.

Unlike the past two entries, this clinic not only focuses on aesthetic procedures, but also more on skin health. They treat conditions such as active acne, age spots, dry skin, broken veins, milia, mole removals, and even offer full skin cancer screenings.

One of their special procedures is a Visia facial scan, which uses revolutionary technology to provide high definition images of your skin. It can even simulate how you will look in 5 year’s time, which helps you determine the precautions to take.

They also offer standard face, body, and skin treatments as usual, but some of their most availed ones include botox and dermal fillers. Dermal Clinic is also praised for fostering a welcoming and professional atmosphere.

Each team member is a specialist in their field to ensure their patient’s safety, and gives honest advice regarding the best treatments for their patients. They are also able to suggest products earnestly without high pressure, which is much appreciated.

However, they have had complaints about lack of communication, especially when it comes to reminding you to book for follow-up sessions. This can consequently affect your aftercare, so it’s best to keep track of these matters yourself as well.

Of course, communication is always something that should be improved on, especially for an award-winning establishment like Dermal Clinic. Nonetheless, the clinic’s services themselves are effective and well-loved by their clients.

Pros

  • Specialisation in non-surgical aesthetic and reconstructive facial procedures
  • Established unique skin health, women’s health, and men’s health departments
  • High satisfaction rates from patients

Cons

  • Irregular clinic schedule
  • Very expensive prices
  • Smaller team, can be difficult to book an appointment

Dr Nestor’s Medical Cosmetic Centre is run by a team whose vision is to improve and develop clients’ features while aiming for a natural, healthy result. It’s a clinic that specialises in non-surgical aesthetic and reconstructive facial procedures.

Its award-winning founder, Dr Nestor, has put great importance in establishing a skin health department that addresses ageing, scars, acne, rosacea, and pigmentation, as well as women suffering from intimate issues following childbirth.

Their team has even expanded to include a lifestyle medicine doctor and breast surgeons. That said, they have a quite an unusual roster of practitioners, and a pretty unique set of procedures that sets them apart from other clinics.

Aside from general skin health and women’s health, they also offer men’s health services. Dr Nestor’s Medical Cosmetic Centre highlights that men’s faces age differently from females, which calls for the need to establish a separate section.

Some of their most popular treatment options include chemical peels, medical needling, volite hydrating injections, lasers, as well as an advanced ZO skin health system. They also make sure to tailor these according to your skin health consultation results, too.

We’ve heard great feedback from Dr Nestor’s Medical Cosmetic Centre, and majority of patients expressed satisfaction with work done. The fees for this clinic, however, is among the highest in the market, which can make it inaccessible to most.

Additionally, they are a smaller team operating on quite an irregular schedule, which might also make it difficult to get a booking in. Despite this, Dr Nestor’s Medical Cosmetic Centre continues to flourish as one of the most trusted in Edinburgh.

5. The Source Clinic

Pros

  • Stellar customer service
  • Specialisation in offering tailored consultations and treatment plans
  • Great option for those looking for skin rejuvenation

Cons

  • Irregular clinic hours
  • Limited range of services
  • Not the place for more serious skin conditions

Lastly we have The Source Clinic, which has scored an impressive A on both Google Reviews and Facebook Reviews. Established in 2019 by beauty and aesthetic expert Julie Brown, The Source Clinic has quickly risen above competitors in the market.

The clinic prides itself on staying on top of beauty industry trends and training its staff well. Its primary service is to offer simple and tailored consultations, and crafting treatment plans that will suit different patients’ predicaments.

Most of The Source Clinic’s treatments involve a lot of skin rejuvination through facials, peels, boosters, and lasers. That said, the clinic does not really treat more serious skin conditions like eczema, acne, psoriasis, and the like.

Their 3Juve Laser treatment is one of their most sought-after treatments, and it works to combat the three most common signs of ageing. It’s also a great starting point for individuals who are more hesitant to start getting fillers and botox.

The clinic also offers booster add-ons to treatments, such as LED light therapy, skin tightening, and even a 30-minute pre-treatment massage. They also offer brow procedures, a service that’s uncommon to dermatology clinics.

As mentioned, The Source Clinic is not really the place to visit if you plan on getting treatments for more serious skin conditions, as their range of treatments is a bit limited. But their knowledgable staff can help you identify any existing conditions, at least.

All in all, The Source Clinic’s high ratings are well-deserved, and we hope that they expand their range of products and services to accommodate for more skin concerns. Still, we recommend this clinic to those looking for a bit of a skin pick-me-up.
