The Top 5 Chiropractors in Edinburgh
How we picked
Credentials
To ensure proper diagnosis and treatment, we checked each chiropractor’s credentials. This includes having the proper education and training as well as affiliations with reputable societies and industry recognitions.
Clinic
We popped by each clinic to see if was a conducive environment for rehabilitation. Apart from that, we checked if their facilities were up to healthcare standards.
Availability
For easy access to your attending chiropractor and their clinic, we assessed their business hours, communication lines, and location accessibility.
Payment
To ensure patients get their money’s worth, we assessed whether their fees were reasonable for the value of their services. To boot, we checked if they provided finance options, too.

Pros
- Has completed several post-graduate studies
- A popular choice among pregnant women, patients with neurological concerns, and children
- Has a solid reputation for professional and trustworthy care
- Offers free initial consultations
- Facilities are wheelchair-accessible
- Regulated by the General Chiropractic Council (GCC)
Cons
- Clinic is only operational on weekdays
- Clinic closes a tad earlier on Fridays
- Fee information not readily available
In 2011, Katie Champion completed her 5-year Master’s Degree at AECC University College, England, before moving to Edinburgh to practise.
Champion has completed several post-graduate studies with a special interest in neurology, paediatrics and pregnancy. These include paediatric care, functional muscle testing, and pregnancy care, to name a few.
Most notably, she finished her post-graduate degree in functional neurology in 2017 and further studies focused on childhood developmental delays.
Having said that, Champion is a popular choice among pregnant women, patients with neurological concerns, and children.
From our perspective, Champion has established a solid reputation for professional and trustworthy care. According to a few expectant mothers, Champion is particularly skilled at relieving tension.
For extra discerning patients, it’s worth mentioning that she’s regulated by the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). Hence, you can be confident in the quality of Champion’s services.
She is currently practising at Morningside Chiropractic, an award-winning clinic serving the Edinburgh community for the last 15 years.
We like that the clinic offers free initial consultations to get to know the patient and understand their needs. You can easily book one via their website or by phoning in.
As for accessibility, it’s worth noting that their facilities are wheelchair-accessible. So, getting around won’t be troublesome for those with mobility concerns.
However, they’re only open on weekdays and close a tad earlier on Fridays. Honestly, we would have liked to see more availability through weekend or evening appointments.
We also found it quite a bother that their fees aren’t readily available on their website. Hence, you’ll have to enquire to find out.

Pros
- Has experience running several clinics in Europe and Asia
- Utilises soft tissue techniques and medical dry needling
- Treatments have an evidence-based approach
- Fees are competitively priced
- A member of several chiropractic societies
- Clinic is open daily until late
Cons
- Hamilton is the only chiropractor in the clinic
- Slots can fill up quite quickly
Ken Hamilton completed his degree in Doctor of Chiropractic at the Life Chiropractic College West in California. Afterwards, he ran several well-respected clinics in Europe and South East Asia before settling in Edinburgh.
One of the things we love is that Hamilton provides his patients with a tailored rehabilitation plan. This includes administering several tests to ensure his diagnosis and treatment plans are on the right track.
Having said that, we think that the most noteworthy feature of Hamilton’s approach is that he utilises soft tissue techniques and dry medical needling.
As a part of several chiropractic societies, Hamilton also ensures that his treatments are evidence-based.
Hamilton’s technique is second to none based on patients we’ve gotten in touch with. Many raved about having increased mobility just after a single session.
Hence, it’s no surprise that Hamilton is a crowd favourite, as many have seen massive improvements in no time.
We also think it’s worth pointing out that his fees are competitively priced. For new patients, it’ll cost you £60 for a 40-45 minute session and only £37 for subsequent 20-25 minute treatments.
Unfortunately, Hamilton is the only chiropractor at the clinic, which can pose availability concerns, especially during peak hours. In our experience, slots can fill up quite quickly.
Hence, we strongly encourage you to book an appointment to ensure you’ll be seen.
It’s also worth mentioning that they’re open daily until late, so you can book an appointment at your most convenient time.

Pros
- Graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic
- Has over 14 years of clinical experience
- Holds the Gonstead Extremity Certification (GCEC)
- Is the only certified Gonstead Chiropractor in Scotland
- Open until late during weekdays
Cons
- No online booking system
- Closes earlier on Saturdays
- Fees not readily available
Stuart Cooper’s distinctive qualifications and over 14 years of clinical experience are his most noteworthy feature. Firstly, he graduated from the distinguished Anglo-European College of Chiropractic.
On top of that, he’s the only certified Gonstead Chiropractor in Scotland, trained in the Gonstead Chiropractic Technique. He is also only the 3rd chiropractor in the UK to have the Gonstead Extremity Certification (GCEC).
We were also impressed that he has trained directly under Dr Alex Cox, a well-respected chiropractor who is also Dr Gonstead’s very first associate.
Cooper has attended several international training sessions and seminars to add to his already jaw-dropping credentials.
So, it doesn’t surprise us that Cooper is a sought-after chiropractor among many famous and influential athletes, actors, and even business leaders.
It’s also worth noting that they’re open as late as 8 PM Mondays through Fridays. Hence, they’re a perfect option if you want some evening relief after a tiring day.
While it’s great that they’re also open on Saturdays, it’s disappointing that it’s only from 9 AM to 1 PM.
We were bothered that they don’t have an online booking system. So, you’ll have to set an appointment the old-fashioned way via phone.
It’s also quite inconvenient that they don’t have their chiropractic fees readily accessible on their website. So, this is one other thing you’ll have to enquire about.

Pros
- Has practised for over 20 years
- Employs a whole-person approach to treatments
- Services are affordable
- Offers care plan at a discounted price
- Street parking available
Cons
- Irregular business hours
- Closed on Fridays and Sundays
- Alternates clinics
After graduating from Life University in Marietta, USA, Joey Thieme moved to Edinburgh, where he practised for 20 years.
A few years later, he opened Chiropractic Health, where he’s built long-standing relationships with most community members.
What we like most about Thieme’s approach to chiropractic care is that his treatments take a whole-person approach. He focuses on the underlying issues behind patients’ pain and discomfort.
Having said that, his treatments often include targeted corrective exercises. What’s great about this is that patients can practise this outside of their sessions, helping make their treatment more effective.
Thieme is also registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) and a member of the Scottish Chiropractic Association.
We find Thieme’s services quite affordable compared to other clinics. Initial consultations are £55 for adults, £45 for seniors (65+), and £25 for students and children under 16.
We like that they offer single adjustment rates as this makes their services more accessible to those that can only afford occasional treatments.
It’s also great that they provide care plans. In our opinion, this helps make their services more affordable at a discounted rate.
That said, since he alternates between their Edinburgh and Bathgate clinic, we think this could pose availability issues. They’re also closed on Fridays and Sundays.
On top of that, we find their irregular business hours quite confusing. So, we highly suggest double-checking before making an appointment.
On the brighter side, there’s street parking adjacent to the clinic. So, you won’t have to worry about parking too far from the treatment centre.

Pros
- Doctor of Chiropractic from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic
- Provides complimentary consultations
- Performs a comprehensive health evaluation
- Gives clients homework (stretches and exercises) to do at home
- Known for being able to connect with patients
Cons
- Irregular business hours
- No weekend or evening appointments
- Rates not readily available
Gary Blackwood is a Doctor of Chiropractic, earning his degree from the prestigious Anglo-European College of Chiropractic.
After several years of working for the Wight Chiropractic Clinics in Haddington, Blackwood, Blackwood bought the Family Wellness and Chiropractic Centre to set up his own practice.
What most patients like about Blackwood is that he’s also sought relief from chiropractors after suffering from recurring neck pain and headaches.
For many, this connection makes them feel comfortable and assured in Blackwood’s ability to understand their pain and help address it.
We like that they offer complimentary consultations. In our opinion, this is a great avenue for Blackwood to get to know his patients and understand their problems.
On top of that, they also administer a comprehensive evaluation of your health. We appreciate this extra step to ensure that they clear out any underlying medical concerns before proceeding with the treatment plan.
Did we mention that Blackwood also gives homework? Though, this isn’t the kind that you take home from school.
We appreciate that they send patients home with some stretches and exercises to practice whilst out of session. From our perspective, this helps patients get the most out of their treatments.
As for appointment settings, you can easily book one via their website or simply phone in. However, we do have to warn you that they have irregular business hours, which can be a tad confusing.
They’re also unavailable on weekends or offer evening appointments, which was quite a bummer as we would have liked to see more availability.
Unfortunately, they don’t have their chiropractic fees readily accessible on their website. So, you’ll have to phone in to enquire.
