Newtown Renovations Ltd features one of the most impressive portfolios among our candidates. We were impressed to see their before and after photos, including basements, bathrooms, kitchens, and more.

We also reached out to their previous clients, and they also told us that their basements look drastically better after availing of Newtown’s renovation services.

One of our favourite things about this contractor is their complete set of home improvement services, which makes renovating basements that much accessible. For instance, they offer carpentry, painting, and decorating.

They also do a great job of refurbishing to breathe life into furniture that’s in the latter phases of its life. We saw a basement where they used a great and sturdy piece of wood as the main centrepiece.

From what we’ve gathered, the workers are also extremely friendly and easy to work with!

However, we wish they could improve their responsiveness and overall operating hours.

Tip Top Renovator was relatively close to our home, so we had our eye on it for a while. It was only recently that we reviewed their previous work, which prompted us to take a closer look at their services.

Right off the bat, we were impressed by their one-stop shop nature, offering various renovation services like painting, decorating, and repairs. In our books, they’re the go-to guys for basement overhauls, given that they offer electrical services as well.

We also love how they communicate things clearly. Previous clients have told us how helpful it was to be updated constantly throughout the project.

Plus, they told us how closely their contractor worked with them to achieve their vision for their basements.

The only downside here is that they can be unresponsive at times. Plus, the timelines can be inaccurate, but still, we appreciate their accountability and their efforts in making the process as smooth as possible.

Cramond Renovations was recommended to us by my brother, who recently transformed his basement into his mancave. We were impressed by the result’s beauty, so we decided to inquire.

“We recently had the pleasure of working with Tom and his team of Dave, Jackson and Syd on a significant renovation of our home. 

The project included the installation of new parquet flooring throughout, a new kitchen and bathroom, a full central heating upgrade, and the conversion of a small box room into a walk-in wardrobe, along with several other bespoke pieces of work.

As with any large renovation, there were a few challenges along the way, but Tom’s expertise and problem-solving approach were invaluable, especially with this being our first experience of a major renovation project.

“Tom and his team have been a real pleasure to work with over the last 3 months. They have transformed the downstairs of our dated Victorian terraced house from a dark and dysfunctional space to a beautiful and fully functional open plan kitchen/ utility/ living area full of light and character that has become the much-needed heart of our busy family home.

The project has been challenging at practically every turn, but Tom’s relentless enthusiasm and optimism have ensured that we have really been able to maximise every opportunity to improve the space. 

The team have shown real creativity and flair in their suggestions, including reusing original materials where possible to ensure the finished product is sympathetic with the rest of the house.

Tom also sourced suppliers, liaised with all contractors and provided regular updates on progress. Communication has been excellent, and Tom has always been on hand for any queries.
