Since becoming an auntie, it’s become one of my favorite things to do—taking my nieces and nephews to the best pumpkin patches around Aberdeen, with corn mazes and hayrides to make it an autumn outing they’ll never forget.

Just under 30 minutes from Aberdeen, you’ll find the Pumpkin Pavilion at Udny Pumpkins, a charming family-run farm and pumpkin patch. With a wide selection of pumpkins perfect for carving, decorating, or adding to your fall décor, it’s a fantastic spot for the whole family.

For the kids, there are plenty of activities, from climbing hay bales to playing in the on-site playground. Plus, seasonal treats and drinks are available, making it even more festive.

Best of all, entrance is free, so no need for pre-booking if you’re just visiting. However, if you plan to pick pumpkins, be sure to book online. Prices for pumpkins range from £3 to £10 depending on their size and weight​.

Pro Tip: While you’re there, don’t miss the themed displays that provide perfect photo opportunities to capture the moment.

The Banchory Pumpkin Patch is a family-friendly event that takes place every fall at Drumshalloch Farm, located just 30 minutes from Aberdeen.

Entry is free for adults, while children’s tickets are £10 each. This includes access to the pumpkin patch, where they can pick a pumpkin of their choice, enjoy a goody bag, and take part in the fun Halloween trail. 

In addition to the pumpkin patch, there are animal encounters and a scavenger hunt to keep little ones entertained. These activities are available at an extra cost, and parking is £5 per car​.

Pro Tip: Arrive early, especially if you want to avoid the busiest times and get the best pick of pumpkins

Scotland’s Pumpkin Patch at Arnprior

Although it’s a bit of a drive, Arnprior Farm hosts Scotland’s original Pumpkin Festival, drawing families from near and far. Held over three weeks each October, the festival features over 20,000 pumpkins to pick from, offering something for everyone. 

Prices start at £5 for small pumpkins and go up to £12 for larger ones, with adorable munchkins available for just £1.50.

It’s a perfect outing for the whole family, complete with sprawling fields, quirky photo spots, and tasty seasonal snacks. The festival also includes a fun corn maze to explore, adding to the festive atmosphere. 

Pro Tip: Dog owners can bring along their furry friends, as long as they’re kept on a lead.

With over 20,000 pumpkins to pick yearly, Cairnie has been in the pumpkin patch game for over 25 years. A favorite of many and one of Scotland’s premiere pumpkin-picking destinations, Carnie provides two slots–mornings from 10am to 12:30, and afternoons from 1pm to 3:30pm.

Pumpkins are available in various sizes, with prices starting at £5 for smaller ones and going up to £12 for the largest. For something extra cute, “munchkin” pumpkins are priced at just £1.50 each​.

Beyond pumpkin picking, Cairnie boasts a 6-acre Mega Maze and a vibrant funyard filled with family-friendly activities, making it ideal for a full day out. When hunger strikes, visitors can savor homemade treats and meals at the farm café, adding a delicious touch to the experience.
