Right at the city centre, Glasgow Notary Public and Apostille easily became one of my go-to for getting documents notarised. Lewis was a breeze to work with, incredibly helpful, welcoming, and thorough, ensuring that this nervous first-timer had all of his documents in order. 

I was so impressed that I recommended him to a friend who needed her documents notarised within three days. Somehow, Lewis pulled it off without breaking a sweat. I don’t know how Lewis did it, but he did. I’m convinced his stamp’s got a touch of magic in it. 

But here’s the hitch: witnesses aren’t provided. So if you need one in addition to the notary, you’re going to need to bring them yourself.

It’s also worth noting that you need to book in advance, so if you have something urgent or last-minute, there’s always a risk of unavailability. Luckily, it’s quite straightforward via their website.

Mike Ramsay is a solicitor with over 20 years of legal experience and offers a range of services, from notarisation to translation of foreign language documents. 

That last part is a real bonus, as you can have documents interpreted in-house, ensuring they’re properly understood and verified before notarisation, saving you from delays and misunderstandings.

Another plus is his flexibility. Mike can often accommodate short-notice meetings (subject to availability, of course). And if that doesn’t work out, he also offers mobile appointments. And if even that isn’t an option, he can go straight to you. Now that’s what I call service.

There’s just one little downside: response times can occasionally be a bit slow, so you may need to follow up once or twice. Still, the quality and convenience Mike offers more than make up for it.

Everything’s done in real-time over video, even the witnessing, followed by a certification with an official notarial seal, and voila, you’re done! Depending on the number of documents you have, the whole thing shouldn’t take longer than 20 minutes.

They also offer e-Apostille services, which is perfect if you’re working to tight deadlines and want to avoid going elsewhere. If you prefer the traditional route, hard copies are available too, just expect to take a little longer and include courier fees.

Weir Law Solicitors offer a range of services, from notarisation to countersigning, whether you need it for academic qualifications or foreign documents. Straight away, you can make a free enquiry through their website if you’re not sure what you need.

They sometimes offer same-day appointments, which can be a lifesaver if you’re in a rush, though it’s not something they can always guarantee. If your document needs extra witnessing or requirements, you may need to allow more time.

On top of that, they’re easy to reach and usually respond quickly, which makes the whole process less stressful. However, they aren’t available past 5 PM and on weekends, which may be tricky during an emergency.

On the bright side, their attention to detail is commendable. Missing documents or anomalies don’t get past them, which is a real reassurance!
