Pros

  • Minutes away from Glasgow city centre
  • Spacious and well-equipped lounge
  • Polite, friendly, and accommodating staff
  • Also offers vehicle detailing package

Cons

  • Comparatively more expensive
  • Charges extra for cars with pet hairs

Our first staff tester decided to put Kingston Car Spa to the test since they claim to be Scotland’s premium auto care specialists.

First off, their location is an urban dream – only minutes away from Glasgow city centre. They’re also open all week, so customers could easily fit in a sprucing session around their busy schedules.

Walking into the spacious lounge was like entering a car spa oasis. With tables and chairs, a TV, a vending machine, and a coffee machine, our tester felt like he was waiting for his car in a cosy living room.

The staff were polite, friendly, and a bunch of car aficionados themselves. They even managed to accommodate his last-minute whim for a clean ride, which was a lifesaver.

Now, let’s talk about their most popular package: the mini valet. It includes wash and wheel treatment, window cleaning, spray wax, quick detailing, tyre dressing, and more, making our tester’s car look and feel brand new.

Kingston Car Spa also offers a vehicle detailing package. With its full valet, underside cleaning, engine bay TLC, and ceramic coatings for the paintwork, it’s like a spa day and makeover for your car!

While the service quality is top-tier, the prices do match that. For instance, their mini valet would set you back from £18 up.

Also, they do charge extra for exceptionally dirty cars, like those with dog and cat hair.

Pros

  • Over 25 years’ experience
  • Custom-built mobile eco valeting and detailing unit
  • Specialises in luxury cars
  • Famous celebrity clients
  • Extended working hours

Cons

  • Steep prices
  • Isolated reports of scratched cars

With over 25 years’ experience under their belt, Mobile Car Valeting Glasgow proved they knew their way around cars. This was a comforting thought for our next staff tester as she handed over the keys to her precious vehicle.

What sets them apart is their unique approach: they brought their car wash to our staff tester’s home! No standing around in queues or worrying about finding a slot; their custom-built mobile eco valeting and detailing unit rolls up to your location.

Unlike other car wash services, they specialise in cleaning sports cars, luxury vehicles, and even celebrity cars. And if you’re the proud owner of a luxury car, their monthly cleaning plans are a true blessing.

But the A-list treatment doesn’t end there. Their client roster reads like a who’s who of the elite: A and B-list stars, ex-footballers, Scottish football and rugby players, and even the likes of Paul Gascoigne and UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

Their extended working hours – from 7 AM to 8 PM – are also a boon for early birds and night owls. Our tester was able to book a 7 AM slot, which gave them ample time to finish before she had to go to work.

However, convenience and luxury do come at a price.Their cost is steeper than your average car wash, with the cheapest one priced at £65, while their full detailed car valet, would cost you a princely sum of £140.

It’s also worth noting that there have been isolated reports of scratched cars.

Pros

  • Open 24/7
  • Affordable Ultimate Wash with several inclusions
  • Also offers antibacterial steam treatment,
  • Has a rain repellent windscreen treatment

Cons

  • Patches of missed wash and uneven sections
  • Reports of rude staff members
  • Comparatively limited range of services

Our staff tester also visited Dr. Wash, a family-run gem boasting round-the-clock availability. The fact that they’re open 24/7 is a definite thumbs-up, considering other car washes adhere to stricter schedules.

Our tester decided to get the Ultimate Wash at just £7, which promises a bang for your buck. He appreciated their 8-stage steam wash and polish system, which has several inclusions, such as a citrus pre-spray, a lambswool massage, and a lotus steam wax.

Dr. Wash also offers a £5 antibacterial steam treatment, which not only cleans your car but also leaves it germ-free. This is especially great for those with kids, pets, or those who work in medical settings.

In addition, their rain repellent windscreen treatment for £12.95 offers a year of windshield clarity. We think this is a worthy investment, given our unpredictable weather.

However, after the valet, he couldn’t help but notice patches of missed wash and uneven sections on the car’s surface. It made him question the thoroughness of their service, a slight blemish on an otherwise promising package.

We also heard occasional reports of staff members displaying less-than-stellar attitudes. While we were fortunate to not encounter this, it’s something worth considering if you value a friendly and caring atmosphere.

Lastly, their range of services was comparatively limited, which might leave some customers looking for more specialised treatments wanting.

Pros

  • 14 years of experience
  • Eco-friendly car wash service
  • Uses their own cleaning solution
  • No bookings needed
  • Offers online deals
  • Offers a wide range of packages

Cons

  • A tad pricier
  • Some reports of aggressive upselling

We decided to hit up The Car Wash Company next. Established in 2009, they’ve mastered the art of eco-friendly car washing.

They claimed to have washed over half a million cars while saving a staggering 150 million litres of water, equivalent to 60 Olympic-sized pools. They also aim to save a billion litres within the next five years, which we think is impressive.

Their secret weapon is a specially concocted cleaning solution aptly named ‘Little Drop of Brilliance.’ Devoid of harmful chemicals, it works by emulsifying dirt and lifting it up, allowing it to be wiped away, thus limiting the amount of water used per wash.

What’s more, no appointments are needed! You can pop in whenever your car craves a makeover, which is great for those with busy schedules.

Their website also offers irresistible deals from 10% discounts and up. These would be great for those who are on a budget.

With a service menu that reads like a treasure map – Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Deluxe – they tailor their offerings based on the inclusions in each one. Customers can simply choose which ones would be suitable for them.

As for the results, our tester’s car emerged sparkling clean  – not a speck of dirt in sight!

Of course, there’s a flip side. The price range, from £11.95 to £95.95, might cause budget-conscious eyebrows to rise.

Our tester also noticed a small issue during his interaction with the staff. They seemed keen on suggesting more expensive packages and got a bit aggressive when he declined, which we agree is quite off-putting.

Pros

  • Over a decade of experience
  • Open all week
  • Affordable car wash services
  • Also offers detailing and car repair

Cons

  • A bit slow in terms of service
  • Place a bit run-down
  • Isolated reports of missing belongings

Foam and Away has over a decade in the game, so they’re no rookies when it comes to car care. That’s why our staff tester decided to test their car washing skills.

First off, their all-week availability is a saviour for those who need their wheels tidied up no matter the day.

They also offer wallet-friendly delights that won’t break the bank – from the speedy £3 taxi wash-and-go to the more comprehensive £12 mini valet package. They’re ideal for those on a budget or even allowances, such as students.

Our staff tester can vouch for their mini valet service. They didn’t just clean his car, they pampered it: foam wash, interior and exterior attention, and a polishing touch that left his ride gleaming and smelling like a breath of fresh air for weeks!

But, they’re not just about cleaning; Foam and Away offers a holistic approach with their detailing and repair options. It’s a one-stop shop for anyone seeking thorough car care.

While their thoroughness is commendable, we heard reports of them taking a little over an hour for just a basic wash. I guess you could say it’s a trade-off between thoroughness and speed.

Aesthetically speaking, the place could use a facelift. It’s got that ‘lived-in’ look that might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Lastly, while he didn’t experience this personally, there have been a few reports of belongings going missing. It’s an isolated issue, but one that should be taken into account.
