Where: Broughty Ferry, River Tay or Loch Tay

Moving to water sports, Kayaking and Canoeing is the first to do in Dundee. You can search kayaking and canoeing places near your accommodation as the city has a lot.

However, venues vary on restrictions. Some need a licence, while some don’t. Locations such as the sea, estuaries, and most tidal water, do not require a licence.

Before kayaking and canoeing, you can check first the weather, tides, flow and visibility as this will be essential during the activity.

It’s often preferable to paddle in calmer waters rather than facing a raging river with increased risk near boat vessels, meanders and bridges, so keep this in mind. Plus, we recommend that you dress according to the weather.

6. Surfing
