Aberdeen’s pottery scene has easily become one of my favourite discoveries. There are tons of studios to choose from! Whether you’re new to pottery or looking to get better at it, Aberdeen has the perfect studio for you!
If you’re like me and love creating something with your own hands, these Aberdeen pottery studios will get your hands messy (and you’re gonna love it anyway!) It’s an awesome idea for dates, team building, friendly hangouts, and family outings, too.

Founded by a passionate team and two winners of The Great British Pottery Throwdown, this studio offers an inviting space for everyone, from beginners to experienced makers!
This studio already has everything you need, including equipment, supplies, hands-on teaching, and a supportive environment.
They offer open classes on wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques. In case you want to run a little ceramics class among friends and family, they are also open to bespoke group bookings!

Langley Ceramics

This charming home studio is run by its founder. It has a range of services from ceramic classes to bisque. Langley Ceramics has everything you need for pottery making!
In addition to their classes, the studio offers ceramic paints, tools, and firing services. It’s great for beginners and experienced creators! Finished items are also available for sale– I took one home as a personal keepsake!

Bee Crafty Studio is a cosy spot for budding and skilled artists who love to paint ceramics. Natalie, the host, was friendly and helpful. She was great at guiding us and also letting us enjoy the process at our own pace.
I felt so right at ease in the studio, especially with the warm cabin ambience. Guests can choose from a wide variety of blank ceramics to paint like mugs, dog bowls, and decorative items.
Pro tip:
Choose a smaller item to avoid rushing at the end! I think you’ll enjoy the process even more this way.
Coastal Creations

This pottery painting studio is on wheels! Coastal Creations brings pottery and creative workshops to you. They serve the North East of Scotland.
They also offer bespoke sessions, ideal for groups, families, or team-building events. If you’re a bit iffy about having to travel far to paint ceramics, be sure to call on Coastal Creations!
Pro tip:
The class fee includes paint usage, equipment, and hall costs; but on Tuesdays, you can get free hot drinks too!

Durno Pottery Studio has pottery classes for all levels. Beginners can join a relaxed, small-group course covering every fundamental technique from hand-building to wheel throwing. Taster sessions, on the other hand, provide the intro to both techniques.
If you’re new to pottery, the taster sessions are a great way to try both hand-building and wheelwork.
